We're looking to upgrade the 'hosting CPU' so I've set up a crowdfunding project.

I would love it if you could donate using the link below to access my project page. Any contribution large or small will be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

  • The Novice Chase picture is oh so murky ATM especially after the GW news which no one was expecting. I think it's sensible to take a back seat for a bit and just let it all unfold with the upcoming stable tours and future entries before jumping in the deep end again. That's how I'll be playing it out .

I've got nick rockett covered for the banc but after the gaelic warrior news I'm in a dilemma as to whether to back him for the nhc now, before the stable tour is released the weekend. It's started !

        Bingo !!!!!
Mullins suggested the BANC specifically today. Not nailed on of course, but that’s why the preference.

        • Willie has made reference to him “looking like a sort of brown advisory horse”. Despite the usual speculation around race targets, I tend to find that he sticks to his stated targets from the early season stable tours.

I suspect this will see Facile Vega go down the arkle route, certainly until the point if/when he is beaten at that trip along with mister policeman. In recent years the yard MO looks to have shifted from having one to multiple runners in the arkle.

If the above comes to fruition I would expect fact to file to be yards number one for the turners. You then have champ kiely, sharjah and nick rocket to fit around the others and possibly run one of them in the NHC.

Before this years festival even, all they said was 3m, soft ground and a fence. Not often u hear that pre the festival before which shows the thinking ahead!

I'll sit back and enjoy the ride for a bit. See where they are entered up ,catch their first couple of runs, listen to what Willie, Patrick and Co say and then run from there. With the huge amount of Novices he has to juggle this season the prices will hold out for enough time to get involved at a time when the jigsaw is a little clearer. No point wasting any other bullets at this point unless of course I decide to take the TWAR prices on a few to take away the Bingo element.

Exactly the same as myself and made the move for the same reason.

Was he not seriously being considered for the Supreme at some point ? I think he was. Must have a bit of speed in those legs ?

                  • Further haircuts for Mister Policeman today with Betfred, Corals/Laddies. All go 10's now.

                    • As a racing purist who wants to see horses jump, I’m a little bit peeved that Willie has cited age as the reason to go chasing with Fact To File. If it was such a problem, why not go bloody novice hurdling last season instead of pissing around in bumpers!

                      • With Flooring Porter travelling over to Cheltenham next week presumably going for the same NHC 'trial' race as Galvin and Chemical Energy, perhaps he's another to consider for the 4 miller ???

I wouldn't worry too much about the trial race - Cromwell suggested there's nowhere else for him to go, which fits with a discussion in the stable tours thread but doesn't fit with him being quite happy to start FP over 2.5miles last season. It would also surely be a little disappointing if a multiple Grade 1 winning hurdler went for a Grade 2 novice chase?

He’s going to be another thyme hill. Spent far too long over hurdles to be winning chases at the festival.

Maybe. But if he's not up to the G1 standard over fences then the NHC would be a lovely option and he'd be qualified having already run in the 'trial' race. Quite brilliant race planning really........even if it isn't the plan !

Can't say I fancy him for anything at this point as the Novice chase scene is a complete mess but I'll store this conversation to the back of my silly mind and perhaps rekindle it at some point.

Surely if they’re going chasing with him it’s for the grade 1s. If he can’t jump or flops then it’ll be back to the stayers hurdle rather than the NH chase.
