Possibly although Vega will surely stick to 2m this season and no one can have the slightest bit of confidence of G Warrior turning up at the Fez after his last run.

He's been beaten twice at 2m, why would he "surely" stick there? Mullins has said he's going up in trip at some point, comments recently that we are unlikely to see him at 2m again. I'm 50/50 where he goes but gun to head I think he goes Turners.

Agreed on Gaelic, 50/50 at best whether he turns up at all and he could easily go for the Arkle too.

They'll leave him at 2 now and step up next year. That's the impression I get and Willie will give him one last shout over 2 in a poor looking Arkle.

Hes been campaigned no differently to SAF or GD after only 2 runs. Beginners chase, graded race and the obvious next step is a grade 1. Hes won comfortably both times and doesnt have a huge amount to find to be competative in the BANC. Id be shocked if they decided to pass up on a potential Grade 1 when he has as good a chance as any in the race

Dont forget, GDM ran in the BANC the previous season. Id say EG is already ahead of GDM at the same point in their careers

Embassy Gardens isn't trained by Paul Nicholls. If Willie was sending one of his to the BANC with a serious chance, he'd tended to have them run in a G1 beforehand if his previous BANC winners are anything to go by.

If fit, he can send EG to the BANC if he wants but given how Willie has campaigned EG, he's likely only good for a place if the other market leaders turn up.

If EG turns up in the NHC, he's a more likely winner on all known evidence than jolly old saint Nick, although it is worth having both in the book.

Willie just won't give up that better chance of a Festival winner with him in the NHC though and will still feel like he has a chance of upsetting both SAF and Grey Dawning with his others. It's what Willie does.

                  Agree
EG been the one since Christmas Paddy had in pole position for the NHC - no idea why on anything we have seen that will change. Patrick has a huge say in his ride here have to remember it's not Willie fully deciding the NHC horse like other races.
You have the fav. for the race and even look at where he has placed him all season a total NHC campaign.

Why would you move the NHC fav to a race like the Browns which imo he just wouldn't win.

                  • 14/1 Salvador Ziggy (365) looks a very tasty ew bet now Gordon has said that he’s been kept fresh for the NHC. Would surely go off 2nd fav behind Patrick’s mount and if Corbetts Cross missed his engagement

                    • Interesting reading from skelton on at the races app just now, says not totally ruled out the turner's for Grey dawning says the new course would suit better but also warns 3m would suit better, I know it looks more likely Fact to file goes Turners but if mullins did up him to 3m I reckon skelton would have to be really tempted to run Grey dawning in the turner's, would end up being close to fav I reckon with ginnys destiny, 8s available nrmb worth taking now I think

                      • Agree Nwfb89. All about F2F. Grey Dawning will definitely go where he doesn't imo. F2F is very pivotal to multiple horses over all 4 of the Novice Chase races.

                        • No mention of Favori De Champdou in Gordon's Cheltenham stable tour was slightly odd. I had backed him for the NHC but he ran like a drain today and I can only assume they're going to try and aim him at a handicap instead.

I'd imagine he is Irish national bound

                            • According to Declan Phelan today (Irish P2P expert), Inthepocket has returned into full training for over a fortnight and appears to be over the minor injury. No prep race, March depends on the work/schooling.
