Absolutely, the incident at Limerick stemmed from his shite show on Vega. His rep was on the line & he was under the cosh.

    • Yes, from their media personas, the more I like about Willie listening to him, the less I do about Patrick.

A patient rail hugging ride similar to Davy on The Storyteller in the Plate a few years ago would be the ticket.
Took keen hold, midfield, headway and prominent after 2 out, pushed along and went second 4 lengths down last, soon edged right, kept on final 110yds, no match for winner (jockey said gelding hung right-handed)

        Patrick disagreed

        • Three card brag vs montys star again tomorrow

Surprised there's so much between them price wise

If you can read into the market last time

Three card brag was heavily backed so must've been fairly straight for his reappearance

Montys star on the other hand was very weak in the market suggesting he was going to need the run

Wouldn't be surprised at all if that form is reversed

          • As I said, it may not be noticeable that he hangs as the jockey is constantly adjusting his legs, body, reigns to stop him doing it. Having to do that throughout the race is bound to make a negative difference. Hell always be at a disadvantage going LH in top company and there's nothing they can do about it. The Turners has fell apart a fair bit though with injuries and the French horse not coming across so potentially he could win by default. Willie will probably have to pull his other horses out of the race as well if he wants to give him a penalty kick.

Wait till Willie retires, you’ll be hearing a lot more of Patrick’s waffle when he takes over the reins

What price does Three Card Brag go tomorrow if he wins well, conditions are massively in his favour & he’s been hammered in the betting tonight. If Cheltenham comes up soft & he dodges the Irish National (having UK based owners may help in this regard) he’s almost a good thing in my book with plenty of cut.

I think Minella Cocooner will come on tons for the run at Xmas too, fancy him to take in the Naas grade 3 at the end of Jan to get qualified. Reckon they’ll be Willie & Gordon’s main darts.
…noticed a few firms clipping Monty’s for NHC yesterday (although BV still offer 33-1). He wasn’t too far behind TCB last time so could offer some competition today. I assume today’s extended 2m 7f qualifies both for NHC if they’re in the first 4 home.

                • Aye, qualifies them for NHC as further than 2m 7 and a half.

Monty's Star a bet for me today at the prices. The win today and festival bets aren't particularly appealing on him so just a today single and then reassess is my play.

                  • If Monty’s Star ran well today wouldn’t Henry aim higher and go for the BANC? Don’t ever recall him having a runner in the NHC.

Where and when was this please? Must have missed it.

Think he said it after grangeclare west won

Something along the lines of grangeclare could be a BANC horse, fact to file could be turner's

Personally not sure about turner's for fact to file, his jumping isn't the slickest

Was losing ground at most fences when minella cocooner was bowling along

Once cocooner fell away and he could jump at his own pace he was better

He may have said it on RTV but I heard him on RTE, when Grangeclare West won, he surmised that GW could go for the BANC and FtF could drop back to the Turners. His immediate post race comments.

Nothing more certain than that though.

Could well be BANC or Irish national for him

Henry not known for NHC runners as you say

                            • Three Card Brag is very short today. To me, it's the perfect race to bowl round, qualify for the NHC and finish 2nd to Monty's Star to keep the maiden tag.

                              • Don't think three card is a bad jumper, but Monty's star made him look slow.
Won that race with smooth jumping.
