  • ….i assume the first 4 home in Neville’s today qualify for the NHC option if they haven’t already done so.

    • …..Grangeclare as low as 3-1 BANC & 4-1 NHC after that win.

      • Impressive. Different ground conditions at the Fez could bring beaten horses today closer perhaps.

        • I have been rolling up a fair bit this year with varying degrees of success and a fair few felt like no hopes after this week. Grangeclare West is the first to make me feel like I'm sat on a decent slip from the Xmas racing.

Seems a bit of an overreaction to me that

            Surprised he's gone that low

Perhaps it's because I have a pretty low opinion of corbetts cross compared to others

            • ….re GW;

Paddy Power make Grangeclare West their 4-1 favourite, cut from 14-1, for the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and Mullins confirmed that race as a likely target.

He added: “He might go for the Brown Advisory and Fact To File (won at Leopardstown on Thursday) might go for the Turners. We’ll see, it is a nice problem to have.

“We might come back here to the Dublin Racing Festival first. I’m delighted to win a Grade One at Leopardstown over Christmas with him.”

The Closutton handler also confirmed another high-class staying novice chaser in his yard, Klassical Dream, will miss the rest of the campaign after suffering injury when being prepared for this race.

He said: “Unfortunately, he is out for the season after his last bit of work. We will just let the injury settle down over Christmas, but it is very unfortunate.”

              • Mullins got a lot of Turners and BANC possibles but not many for the Arkle, especially if he's upping Facile Vega in trip as well.

I don't actually expect this to happen but... I wonder if any consideration will be given to running Gaelic Warrior in the Irish Arkle. Think there's plenty of potential benefit and not much of a downside to giving it a go, but easy for me to say sat here.

It is unlikely given that Paddy Power seem to have the inside scoop on anything Closutton related but they seem to be standout 12/1 for GW going to arkle.

Used it for a couple of small stakes doubles with Il est francais just in case the stars align for both of them

….thought similar yesterday so took a little of the 12-1 Ark. GW tends to put early daylight between himself and his rivals, was wondering what he’d be like if he just pushed on.

Fact to file and grangeclare to the flogas

                      Seems pretty likely to me

Same here. He'll get a very high figure for it, but at the end of the day given what Corbetts + FP have done so far wouldn't say it was worth 3/1 for March.

He ran 5 in both races last season so anything can happen and there will be others running I reckon, but that would be my guess. The irish arkle would be a free hit for Gaelic, and if he were to beat marine then the arkle would really come into the picture for sure.

I can’t see Blood Destiny not being given a shot over 2m. Surely he’ll go there?
