I'm happy to dismiss broadway boy for the banc, but i'm not a book builder.
Have you missed the boat with him? or will you look to get him onside?
I only ask because you said you're building a book on the race

I only ask you these questions because i thought about doing a book for the banc after i got flooring porter as an early winner, decided against it because i thought it was a minefield and my opinion on flooring is quite strong.

Not backed FP, something been stopping me, probably cos he’s been hurdling too long and won’t be improving.
But I guess as I’ve backed BB I ought to look at FP, based on their running together.
Just think at the weights there’s not a lot between them and BB is young and improving.
Yeah,Will look at getting FP onside at some point, he loves Cheltenham and will be in the lead a long way I would think.

Yep, you did right, I started it and wish I hadn't, as contenders are popping up from all over the place, especially the Mullins lot, but most are cash out so I'm watching and waiting.
Hopefully I'm on the main ones and have enough to cash on ones that get beat when stepped up.
Not concerned about either of the 2 mentioned as Gaelic very unlikely to run here and Broadways price should hold and if he runs in the Lingfield race I think he'll get beat. I almost took 25-1 on exchange after today's race but held off.

jumping was brilliant on the whole, but he made three mistakes down the back and if it wasn't for those he would have won quite easily. He is very tough and really good. After the last day this race came onto the agenda. We are always looking for big money and this race was worth a lot of money. You can go for a novice chase for half of the money so that is the idea of going for a race like this. He could go for either the National Hunt Chase or the Brown Advisory come the festival. We will just have to see what the opposition looks like before making those decisions - Nigel Twiston-Davies, trainer.

Old school mentality to go for the best races (which I'm a fan of) .... like when Colin Tizzard would try and make an Arkle or RSA horse before bothering with the JLT

Yeah
If Sam is fit he’ll be showing Nigel replays of last season’s rsa every five minutes.
But the NH chase getting a mention is encouraging for backers.
We’ll see where Nigel enters him next.
Wouldnt surprise me if he runs against flooring annd or anno Irish contender at lingfield.

Exactly. Nigel has also eluded to BB not being slow and we know he likes to get on with it. You just don't often see front running NHC winners. Absolutely no reason why they shouldn't go for the BANC. Sam would ride and I suspect they'll try and do exactly what Sam did on the The Real Whacker (TRW) this year with BB next year. Get to the front and stay there. BB has achieved far more than TRW had by this point last season and I think NHC chat is playing down BB's ability. Nigel won the BANC with Blaklion who won the same race then that BB won today posting an RPR of 156. BB will be ahead of that and has surely booked his place in the BANC. It's just not possible to hit 3 or 4 fences like he did and still find a way to win cosily. He's a grade 1 novice in the making and thats how he should be campaigned IMO.

Nah Nigel's youngest already spilled the beans.

Willy Twiston-Davies was fighting back the tears in an emotional Cheltenham winners’ enclosure on Saturday afternoon as Broadway Boy expertly booked his Cheltenham Festival ticket.

Despite a few sticky jumps, the improving five-year-old defied a mark of 146 to beat a valiant Threeunderthrufive in the Favourite From The Sun Now Daily Handicap Chase, adding to his 20-length success at the Cheltenham November Meeting.

Trained by his father, Nigel, the assistant trainer rides Broadway Boy out every day and couldn’t help but display a few tears of joy post-race.

“He is the kindest horse I have ever had anything to do with,” Willy Twiston-Davies shared. “You say not to have favourites and Dad always used to love I Like To Move It, but I ride him and he never picks the bridle up.

“He’s very special and I love him more than anything. He does everything I ask him to do, he recognises me, and I could walk him without a headcollar and he would walk next to me.

“He makes me happy every day. Some people have their dogs and cats, but he makes me happy and everyone is different I suppose.”

Once the moment had settled and the presentation was about to get underway, Willy Twiston-Davies confirmed that the Grade 1 Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival is his main aim, a race he is 16/1 for with Paddy Power.

Unfortunately the interview with RTV isn't on their website. The key thing that will send them down the Bancs route is they'll want Sam on his back.

BANC probably is slight fav for the route they go, like others have said, Sam being on his back will be a big factor, but no doubt when the dust settles they'll obviously contemplate what sort of staying novice chasers come out over Xmas and see how they acquit themselves. He'd be the current class act in the NHC for now though, whereas, in the BANC, a horse with a solid EW chance.
