My opinion is baring Bingham is more of a penalty kick and Mullins still has very strong opportunities to win the supreme without ballyburn. I genuinely hope I haven’t wrote anything in this paragraph that’s going to push someone to say they can’t believe what they are reading but if you do fair play to you.

ps, should we believe what you say ? given your forum name ?
Just messing about by the way.
On a serious note, the only counter I'd add to your thought process/opinion of the BB being more of a penalty kick would be, have you planned for the off chance that Mullins/Townend don't fully agree/concur ?
They might not because,
The form arguably suggests that the Ile Atlantique, Readin Tommy form in the lawlors is stronger than anything else or at least as good as, through Lecky Watson and Firefox.
And the 2 mile form of Ballyburn is the strongest of the season also ?
So what Mullins will think about this aspect vs the Ballyburn defeat against Firefox over 2 miles are crucial to his decision.
It really boils down to which excuses he agrees with and ones he doesn't. And he'll have more idea than we do on this, and gets to see them on the gallops.
In short - I might have said this before but reading between the lines I think Mullins rates Ile Atlantique very highly.
Could easily be wrong thoughand I have no firm opinion to which race Ballyburn should go, or will go, as I think he's got a favourites chance in both.
But I also think if Ronnie asked Willie to run him in the BB then he'd oblige.
And I totally agree on his breeding having thought he'd have no chance in a decent standard supreme at the start of the season- so what do I know

I appreciate the apology but not really any need for an apology if what I said was deemed as ludicrous to some people then fair enough that’s their opinion.
On the topic of the supreme I would be quite surprise if all three go to that race, can’t think of many supremes where Willie has had the fav, second fav and third fav but I suppose that’s just the strength of his runners. If he was to split them up in some regard, the most logical is ballyburn as he has proved himself over the longer distance. Either throw one of the two horses that haven’t run over that distance and have done all their winning over supreme distance or send over the horse you always thought needed further and has proven himself over said distance.
But like you said WM sees them on all the gallops and he knows better than anyone else so no point second guessing him. I personally have everything crossed that it is the supreme but we will see.

Q alluded to it and I'm on board with it now, if JP didn't want both his to run in the Supreme, which is entirely possible, then Willie would happily oblige and send M Power to the Ballymore. This would clearly then mean, IMO of course (and Q's I suspect), that Ballyburn would definitely then run in the opener as Tullyhill as his main dart just isn't enough.

Nicky.....
"Jeriko Du Reponet has been in good form. I think the two-miler [Supreme] is going to be the hot one, but I just need to persuade Ronnie Bartlett [owner of Ballyburn] to run his over two and a half because he promised me he would at Christmas, but they seem to have changed their minds which is very inconvenient. I'm sure Ronnie has the last say!"

Getting a horse to take a penalty kick is probably extremely difficult for the animal.
Does anyone with links to Willie's yard know if he has them practicing before the big festivals? It might influence any last minute bets on Ballyburn.
And would he be taking the first penalty or is he a cocky shit like Ronaldo and plans to take the fourth and potentially glory hunting penalty?

All this talk of Ballyburn being 'proven' at 2 1/2m is slightly deceptive in my view. His RPR of 158 was over 2m and his grade 1 win was over 2m. His RPR for his 2 1/2m maiden hurdle win was 145 which puts him behind Predators Gold 150 (G1 placed), Readin Tommy Wrong 149 (G1 winner) and Ile Atlantique 147 (G1 placed). Yes, he may be well suited (If not even better suited) to 2 1/2m and he has at least ran and won at the trip, but what he has proven is that he is a high class 2m novice hurdler.
