Unless they get his mark wrong or he bombs next time out he looks really promising unless the ground comes up very soft, but even then I think he'd cope.

On the positive side of the argument I'd see it as a good thing that they want to be certain. The Handicapper sometimes throws a random one out there.

Cheers Jim. Didn’t know that. Christ they’ve been lenient and yes I’d be running again on that basis.

The ground at gowran currently heavy, which will help conceal his ability for when he meets spring ground

            • …JJ O’Neill re Johnnywho;

He has run well all year and ran well in the Challow after having one run. The heavy ground just found him out a little bit but he stayed on nicely. He looks like a horse that wants three miles now. He has the potential to shape up into an Albert Bartlett type of horse.

              • Sizing John ran in the supreme kinloch brae
Not many placed horses in the ballymore went on to win Gold cup either from memory, I can think of Denman.

Nice to hear from you anyway,

                      • Excellent work fella's I forgot War of attrition and thought Best mate missed the supreme cos of foot and mouth but that must have been the arkle.

Perfect trial for a gold cup horse then.
In fact I'm pretty sure this subject has been covered on here more than a few times.

Kicking King second in the 2003 Supreme then second in the 2004 Arkle then won the 2005 Gold Cup.

                          • He'd be a certainty in the ballymore that's where I'd be running him

Hed outstay the other speed horses and outspeed the other stayers

In a normal Supreme he'd be vulnerable to something with a turn of foot but we've not really seen anything with rock solid form that could definitely be that one

                            Mystical power only beat jigoro

And Jeriko du hypejobonet was rubbish last time

He would probably win either but I'd be more confident on his chances in the ballymore

Especially since he's already beaten the fav Slade steel by 7 lengths

I woke up my wife about 3 am to tell her in case I forgot that my theory was the last four gold cups had been won by horses that had finished second in the supreme and that’s why WOA was going to win the gold cup that year obv best mate padded that stat somewhat but…
