It looks like a 2m listed race. I'm not sure it's been run before as I can't see it on last years card. Conditions on page 13 here: https://www.hri-ras.ie/getmedia/17d8...klet-Part2.pdf

It would look a good race to go for with Mistergif, Anotherway, or Billericay Dickie if they were trying to get another run into them before the festival. Give or take, a 3 week gap between now and then; and then and the festival.

I'm sure I remember thedevilscoachman winning a listed race at punchestown in Feb of his novice hurdle season so might have been ran before, another option for mostergif, anotherway etc could be the race at naas that Corbets cross and found a fifty ran in last year in late feb

Ah yes. Of course. I think it was run at Navan last year and won by Hunters Yarn.

            • No Flies On Him will head to Punchestown to continue his hurdling education next month after connections elected to miss the Dublin Racing Festival with the top novice prospect.

Trained by Edward O’Grady and owned by JP McManus, the five-year-old beat Nicky Henderson’s Grade One scorer Jango Baie in the pointing field before impressing on his rules debut at Leopardstown over the Christmas period.

He looked to be in line for a return to the Irish capital for the Grade One Tattersalls Ireland 50th Derby Sale Novice Hurdle on Sunday, but his name was missing from the list of acceptors at Tuesday’s confirmation stage.

Instead O’Grady will point his talented charge towards Kildare next month, where he will step up to Listed level in the Madigan Group Irish EBF Sheila Bourke Novice Hurdle.

“The horse is absolutely fine and in excellent shape, but we have decided to wait for Punchestown on February 18,” said O’Grady.

“We were pleased with what he did (on debut). I don’t know (if he’s improved) but we will find out.”

No Flies On Him holds an entries for both the Sky Bet Supreme Novices Hurdle – for which he is as short as 12-1 – and the Baring Bingham Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

When asked if a positive display at Punchestown could tee up a trip to Prestbury Park in March, O’Grady said: “I hope so, yes.”

              • Sounds to me like O'Grady has had the tap on the shoulder from the boys, and his horse is a stand by.
They don't send them all to Cheltenham and often leave a couple of good ones back.
Hopefully not for backers and it does sound like he has a chance to press his claims.

                • Tiger Bay Queen entered in a maiden hurdle next Monday at Punchestown. Absolute no brainer 14/1 NRNB for the mares novice imo

Sweet Cherry Nipples. I thought she was a gonner. Very classy smart Hurdler according to trainer. She'll need to be to trouble top three but a dart hopefully nonetheless.

                    • Anotherway given 147RPR.
Pretty random rating all things considered.
Justified by giving the second 130 rpr - having been rated only at a high of 111 in three previous maidens.

                      Dickie got 126.

Dickie looks about right & think run poss over-hyped

Another must be to do with third? But still looks high

I fancied her for the season but I agree, it seems a bit of a mountain to climb now looking at the strength of the front 3 in the market. Still looking forward to seeing her out hopefully.

They did say she was a Rocket and that she won a behind closed doors hurdle race by a hurdle so I can only hope they are right . Needs to run yet though so awaiting declaration anxiously.

                              • Is there any chat for Jit Langy for the Supreme ahead of his run on Sunday?

He's one of the Mullins juveniles held back from last year.

He only has summer form but interesting to see him thrown into a Grade 1 and the form lines tie in with A Gust of Wind.

I took the 66/1 EW for Sunday, but considering taking the Supreme antepost odds of 33/1 EW as I cashed out No Flies On Him.
