  • Been a great weekend of racing, looking forward to the DRF now. Will be interesting to see if there is much market support for Daddy Long Legs, his NRNB price for the Supreme could be good value.

Dancing City is a horse I find interesting. Solid bumper form behind Ballyburn over too short a trip (beat Slade Steel giving him weight). An underwhelming hurdles debut in November (which was in keeping with several of Willie’s at this time) followed by a win in his next race at Navan a month later with a very eye catching finish that suggested he’d relish a longer trip. Notice there are smatterings of blue for him in the Nathaniel Lacey. Any one have any thoughts on him as an outsider for the Bartlett?

One i'd backed early for it, after a name check for the race by Mullins in a stable tour

Not one you'd need to be on before that day though .... or before the DRF ... won't be a sexy runner and almost no chance it's Paul's ride so one you could wait until the day

      • Anotherway has been well backed into odds on in the first at Punchestown today and is 100/1 ante post and 40/1 NRNB (or 66/1 with cashout) for the Supreme

The last two runnings were won by Diverge and Kilcruit, both of which went on to place in a Supreme.

He was pitched in over Christmas and didn't run well, but bouncing back today would surely book his ticket and we'll be sat on a lively outsider for a place, and in a year without a standout, potentially a better win chance than the other two had?

I've backed at 100/1 each way and also taken the 40/1 NRNB

        • Has anyone ever had a 100/1+ AP winner at the Fez?? Must be some.

          I haven't.

Only got Hunters Yarn this year to carry that flag.

….no, but noticed him on Dandrew99 odds movement spreadsheet. 130-1 Sup with Lads boost., 20-1 NRNB with PP and Hills.

              • Would he not be more of a Ballymore shout given his starting distance this close to the festival?

Was entered over 2 miles at the weekend too, but this was the choice. Can never say never but I would guess he's more of a Ballymore type. DDL referred to as a dual purpose horse too, which usually means a 2 miler. Would be the way I'd expect them to split, should they both be good enough (and I've backed them the other way around on the exchange)

Closest 100/1 I got was Saint Calvados who went off 11/4 in a 5 runner Arkle and managed to come 4th.

Anotherway will get the job done though today, full faith

                        • Ruby ranking Willies Novice Hurdlers.....

"Mirazur West has disappointed, so you’d probably have to put him at five, the other four have at least all won.
Ile Atlantique, Mystical Power, Ballyburn or Daddy Long Legs – the last one disappointed on really testing ground at Leopardstown so I guess for that reason and a Thurles win put him at four.

Ile Atlantique probably at three – up in trip I’d say is probably a toss of a coin between Ballyburn and Ile Atlantique, one will go two and a half, one probably two miles.

Mystical Power probably at one, he’s won a Graded race at two miles which the others haven’t so you’d have to put him at one.

The Dublin Racing Festival will tell a lot more if you’re looking for ante-post bets so it’s no good until after the event, but I’d say Ile Atlantique getting beaten in the Lawlor’s probably took him down a fraction so maybe Ballyburn going up in trip."

Best I've done was 80/1 EW on Captain Guinness in last year's Champion Chase. For a few strides I thought he was winning.

I had Envoi Allen at 130 on the exchange last year, not sure if that counts...
