  • Predators Gold performance would be one of the better novice displays so far this season. Would be of interest for the AB but he’s very inexperienced.

    • Huge compliment to Jango Baie.......

Two-time Cheltenham Festival-winning jockey Kielan Woods reckoned the classy Tellherthename is "the best I've ever ridden" in the wake of his first win under rules at the Cambridgeshire track.
The ?200,000 purchase looked the part in the paddock and also on the track when routing the opposition in the same colours as Global Citizen, who Woods steered to glory in the Grand Annual Chase in 2022.

After going down by just a nose to Jango Baie on his hurdles debut at Ascot three weeks previously, the Ben Pauling-trained Tellherthename made no mistake here when making all to score by 14 lengths from Lucky Place.

Woods said of the 4-11 favourite: "Make no mistake, this horse is the best I've ever ridden. He's very good and should really be unbeaten as I think he ran into a freak when he was just denied last time.

"I'm so lucky to be riding horses like this and he could go places all being well."

I think most people marked up Jango Baie at the time given how he ran his race. Will be interesting how those two progress and back up the statement. I’m not sure who Kielan Woods beat horse was before though…

          Yep
Jango and Tellherthename are two outsiders that i really like and have backed.
Jango did a fair amount wrong in their race and still managed to win, be really interesting to see him next.
Tellher is a lovely traveler and jumps well.
If they both turn up in March they are much shorter odds than they are now imo

The winner of the PTP for JP still has to come out too, he had Jango well covered on the day.
2 (Jango B) 3 & 4 have all won on the track so far.

I thought jango b was keen enough in his ptp. Whereas the winner was ridden with a lot more patience. might be a different story between those 2 on the track if hendo can train him on.
do you know, who no flies on him is with?

Yeah, i'd say it was a fairly strong race and the time on the day was really good. Derek gave him an unbelievably confident ride on the day, let the leaders at it and picked them off from a long way back. He was one of the crop JP gave to Derek to kick start his training career so a big one for Derek.
JP handed him over to E O Grady at the time but yeah as you say when they move to these big yards and mature plenty can change but one to note on track debut.

                  • Market spoke loads about Enola. Odds on out to 2/1 on the exchange. Bit keen early on but found nothing at the end.

I thought she jumped nicely until the home straight. Then she got very squiffy. Looked quite big to my eye. Might come on for the run? Willie did say she might not like the ground.

                        • Liked the look of hurdles about as much as I like the look of salad.

Wobbled a bit going into some of them but jumped them low. See how she gets on next time.

Picture of You is interesting as they've kept her in mixed company. Mares handicap hurdle at the DRF could be an aim.

                            • Well that was a shade disappointing from Tullyhill

                              • Tullyhill beaten at long odds on. Jumping early on wasn't great. Whacked the 3rd last and the last was awful. Terrible performance.
