in the RP. I’m sure it shouldn’t be read into too deeply but puts him on the list at the very least.

Interesting stats from Matt Tombs on Matchbook podcast (recommended) re Ballymore winners …..very profitable to back 2m group winners, not so 2.4m winners ….prob something we all knew re speed importance
So a thought ..,,I’m trying to think about Nov Hurdlers in 2 buckets
Poss Supreme/Bally
Poss Bally/Spuds
The first group should win both races & arguably key ones to focus on ….so actually might be worth covering good horses for both wherever possible ….which also helps with Mullins bingo …,but not so much worth backing the latter group except for Spuds
indeed, several recent Bally winners were horses many thought would go Supreme …Appreciate It, Sir Gerhard and Impaire et Passe as examples

I have the following: "... Anything from Two to Two and a half, Two Six" ??
It's the 'Two Six' part that I'm unsure of in particular...
for the local dialect
I’d hear that as the reporter asking is he just a 2 miler? (I.e boxing him in to one trip) Gordon saying ahh you could step him up trip anything from two to two & 1/2, to three6? He could go yano he’s a classy horse
I do think he says 3 at the end not 2. It sounds different to the how he says ‘2’ twice before.
- I’d read it as he’s not limited to one trip and like the very classy horses you expect them to be able to do it at various trips. He made multiple references to his pace, quick, speedy horse.
DML does like a Ballymore or a Supreme horse and his target isn’t 100%. Gordon does look to send the better ones to the mid trip but I wonder is that possibly due to the types he buys for the future aren’t strictly limited 2 milers. I think DML target will be influenced by JPs other horses. Gordon thinks he can go either by sounds of it so if they were asked to go a certain way cause of likes of Jeriko, Mirazaur West and all JPs other Frenchies it doesn’t sound like it’d be a long thought for GE.

Emma confirmed on Twitter that she asked Gordon is he a 2-miler to which Gordon responded 'yes'. So some mixed comments there.

It may be he’s just not had the ammo to take on the big guns yet come march but I’m sure he’ll have one eventually where we need to sit up and take note.
Just my own view as I limit how many I back in each race and what I end up with come March and he’s not one I’d look at, at this stage.

I could see a soft ground Ballymore or even Supreme, but that would be a push for me, as his breeding suggests Albert Bartlett to me.
But visually, the last day I can see why some would think shorter may suit.
I don't, but the Royal Bond may or may not be a winnable race for a horse like this, so if he were to win that then I could see them going in the wrong direction IMO.
Pretty sure the previous trainer mentioned prior to his bumper win at Cheltenham in October last season that the bartlett was the likely target, but they opted to stay in Bumpers.

Winning races before the big guns unleash their good ones?

If he runs him on deep ground he will end up in handicaps most likely.

In more recent times his 2m horses etc seem to hit the ground running then fade away as the big guns come out. Whether Encanto Bruno stays at 2m (he is for his next target) and then up in distance afterwards we’ll see.
As I said I do like the horse, it’s just with my approach I’m not rushing to back him or any of Cromwells novices.
