  • Arguably the best we have seen for the Supreme so far. Good speed to go out and lead and hurdled well. Talk of stamina is a big boost when it comes to Supreme horses. Interesting to see how the time compares to the other two 2m hurdle races on the card.

    • Theatre Native pretty well much just stopped then, obviously something wrong. Given the race record one to avoid atm imo

        5 seconds slower than the first race is surprising. May be a case of controlling the pace and steadily increasing. Will have to see what sectionals come back with.

            Didn't watch the race but all last season he seemed like a horse who just doesn't like winning and is a bridle merchant

              He looked the same today, though some are saying "educational ride".....evidence suggests he's got a woof in his vocabulary.

                If not Ballyburn then certainly not Fact To File for novice chases either...

                I wouldn't be too bothered though he beat him comfortably enough, Champagne Admiral not done the form badly if you rate An Tobar.

                • I wouldn't be put off anything due to IP's run today either.... Betting certainly didn't suggest he was primed for today anyway.

                    Irish panther is Irish panther

                    He travels into races then finds absolutely zilch off the bridle

                    • Nice performance from Willmount today. Not sure how much of a Supreme horse he really is, but time will tell.

                      Nicky won't mind running more than one in the Supreme anyhow, and now we (I) wait for Jeriko Du Reponet to appear.

                      • …NdB re Willmount;

                        ’He gave me a real good feel actually. There wasn’t much pace on so I was happy to just roll away down the back, he pricked his ears and quickened away into the straight. He jumped nicely, was slick when he needed to be and could fiddle away too, which was great. He’s very uncomplicated, these pedigrees are showing time and again with their temperament and everything.’

                        • Nicky on RTV not a fan of the Tolworth moving to Aintree, can't remember exactly what he said but almost certainly that Willmount wont be heading there.

                            I thought he was part of the consultation panel on all changes, seem to remember him talking positively about the big hurdle race at Cheltenham's December meeting moving to trials day long before the public were aware of changes...

                              The moving of the international from mid December to trials day makes complete sense imo, race has been pretty ropey for a few years.
                              He obviously doesn’t think the same re Tolworth being moved.

                                Every chance his wine supplier lives in Esher hence the upset...
