  • Times compared between irish point and brighterdaysahead make the form of that race look pretty solid if you ask me. 4.7 quicker. Although they did go plenty quick enough early in the mares race so it probably always was going to be a better time, nearly 5 seconds though is pretty big.

What gives the comparison a great look though is having a race fit magical zoe held back in 2nd, it gives a good read at where brighterdaysahead is compared to the mares of last season. We'll have to wait and see what Willie brings out, but I'm quietly confident we've already seen the best Mare this season.

    • Anyone else that is on Brighter at nice prices feel a little flatter than they did now? It’s easier to shrug off folks saying the horse isn’t value based on form, it’s tougher once it’s been put in their heads repeatedly that it might not turn up.

It’s a tricky one because you want to warn folks who are contemplating a bet but don’t want to burst the bubble of those that have already. For me one post for the former is sufficient, continuing to debate does the latter.

        Supreme
        Jeriko Du Reponet (Henderson)
        Mirazur West (Willie)
Dream To Share (If he makes it)

        Ballymore
Down Memory Lane (Gordon, the horse to follow the Samcro route by winning today)
Johnnywho (Jonjo) - might take in the Betfair hurdle on the way

And that’s not even mentioning Mystical Power
        • That would let Nicky send Willmount to the Ballymore
        • Ballyburn & Tullyhill (with CP sending Mahon Way the AB) to the Ballymore hopefully as well.
        • An Tobar could go either Bally or AB

Will be some bubbles burst by March for sure but they could be two cracking races and will be plenty of others that could come out of the woodwork
I think Nicky would rather have both in the Supreme, that's not at all unusual for him.

Yeah good advice, I still believe she will turn up and I feel she is a bit special . I have gone from 100% excited to say 95% so that’s still good I just hope others haven’t dipped too much.

The HRI haven’t published the full set of races from New Years Day through to Punchestown Festival yet, so clarification will come when that’s published, which could be next week, they’ve informed me, when I asked recently.

If it’s 31st March then that makes it a short time between 14th March - Cheltenham Mares Novice Hurdle and the Irish Grade 1.

So possible, but maybe not 100% guaranteed just yet.
Fairyhouse Easter festival will be that weekend of Mar 30th to Apr 1st. Irish Grand National always run on Easter Monday which is April 1st next year.

Sorry archie but that’s just not going to happen imo.
Money talks though and Black Type is paramount with these top mares. Archie does have a very good point.

For a NH broodmare, do you think black type is more important than a Cheltenham Festival win ?

Good question. Don't know! Archie might. Hope not as got BDA TWAR and that doesn't stretch to Fairyhouse

Isn't she already black type now after winning yesterday?

Grade 1's have more dollars attached.

For a start they can only realistically turn out one baby a year. So their value is nothing like a stud's worth, not even close.
And you'll only be able to rent her fanny out to someone willing to pay the money you charge.
I'd say that the winner of a festival race and "overall form and reputation", would have some sway for anyone stumping up cash, than being the winner of the Fairyhouse race.
But each individual horse will earn it's price and I expect a certain premium can be attached to a grade 1 black type vs grade 2 for sure.
