  • I can't be having anything trained by Murphy, especially if looking towards Cheltenham

    • Just catching up on the opening show, no good to me now or anyone else for that matter, but Scudamore put up the winner as his ?20 for charity bet!

He did it very well didn't he. Jumped great and pulled away from them race end. Get on him for the race Apples Away won at Aintree. He'll make a superb chaser. IB pulled far too hard. Made mistakes at first two but jumped better after. Outpaced mid race but ran on well. Stayer in the making and will improve.

        Florida Dreams disappointing.

That is very fucking generous to say the least Lobos

I've not seen many worse hurdling debuts

He met 1 on the right stride throughout the whole race and jumped it like it was Bechers.

Every hurdle in the home straight he met on the wrong stride and didn't know what to do

No doubt a big engine in there though, he was barely asked a serious question due to his fumbling.

          • Just watched it back again. Whilst the jumping was extremely poor, that did very much look like schooling in public. Never looked like he wanted to win the race. Plenty of opportunities to move the horse forward in the pack and none taken.

And RacingTV didn’t ask Olly Murphy about the race.

            • I've cashed Florida Dreams but will give Bleu another chance. If he sorts his jumping out (a big if) then he has a chance. All in on Mirazur West now??

              • I thought Jango Baie was impressive today. He pulled very hard early on until he was allowed to bowl along off the front and he battled back well after being headed. Maybe Nicky’s supreme horse? I think it was the same race he used for Altior. I think there’ll be plenty of improvement to come. I think he beat a good horse in Tellherthename, who was sold for ?200k at the Cheltenham sales having won his ptp. I took the 33-1 odds before the race and will be watching his future races with interest.

Agree. He did very well to win after pulling Nico's arms out . Must have some engine to come back again at the finish. They were well clear of the 3rd. As you say, the 2nd looks a nice type as well so it could turn out to be a decent performance. He was bet today like a very good thing and it'll be interesting to see how he does upped in class with a better pace on.

                    • A very interesting Mares maiden hurdle today at cork.,
The 3 mares at the head of the market would all look to have a chance.
The current fav is abi's champ from mullins which has been running in bumpers, beaten 7 lengths by stablemate aurora vega on her last start.
Banprionsa from HDB, one i've been very keen to see since seeing her ptp win, with her breeding i think she is a hugely exciting mare, Does HDB always have his firing first time up against a race fit mullins fav?, i'm not sure he does, but i'm not sure that'll stop this mare today, i think she could be very good.
Queens vic from elliott, who was a 175,000 purchase in jan 22, won her point in good style in nov 21 but has been off since, so maybe has had problems?
plenty of rags in there too, including jetaway to getaway, who banprionsa beat in her ptp, she was also beat an easy 32 lengths by brighterdaysahead lto, so you wouldn't want her within a furlong of the winner of this.
                      An interesting maiden.

                      • Pretty impressed with Johnnywho at Carlisle just now. Still had plenty left despite a slight mistake at the last.

                        • …firms giving Johnnywho a Ballymore haircut after that win on the bridle at Carlisle. 20-1 available but as low as 14-1 elsewhere. Also trimmed for AB.

                            • Anyone got the stats on Carlisle winners at the festival?

Feels like a track that isn't on the radar

                              • …..not sure who it was but somebody put Kinbara up for the AB. Just noticed John McConnell mentioning AB in his stable tour, could run at Cheltenham Nov meeting; 50-1 with 365 cash-out.
