We’re like one big organism, one big animal, yeah? The guys upstairs on the phone, they're the mouth. The guys down here, the hands. I’m probably the humour.

    • Can't wait to hear from Willie why Ballyburn is going to Wednesday's race. Presume someone must have worked well, or not, to change his mind.

Glad for everyone here who have been behind him, Ballyburn, for the Wednesday, over the last year.

I hadn't seen any distinct evidence to suggest that he was definitively going to the Supreme? Wish I'd had more Ballymore multiples now though!

If he is and then does the business on Tuesday, what a journey that's been over the winter since his first run.

I'll probably stick him in the day 2 Yankee now so you can have one more....

The moves started before the horses worked on Tuesday, so at a guess, Townend already had a fair idea of who he'd want to ride between Tullyhill and Ile Atlantique before that and people knew. Or, it's ground related, maybe they anticipate soft/heavy ground and don't trust mystical power to stay the gallaghers trip or something in those conditions. But who knows.

                • If the rain forecast for Sunday and Monday arrives I see Ile Atlantique going Supreme and I think Paul opts to ride him. A strongly run two miles in the mud will suit him down to the ground.

                  • I'd be fairly certain that it was down to where JP's horses were going. Mystical Power basically.
And then Ronnie and Willie had an easy decision.
In my mind it was always boiling down to McManus and to a lesser degree Readin Tommy Wrong. With both seemingly going for the other races it made the choice a no brainer IMO.
Any last minute issues with their work might have scuppered or changed this, but as it stands I think we have a fair idea.
Very flowing situation right from before Tullyhill bolted up the last time.

Based on feedback I've now got from two sources, Tullyhill is working the house down at home.

                          I don’t recall that either.
Thought it was always the case we would not know till very near the week, and actually it’s still not completely done, although it does seem so . Sunday will provide that.
Personally think the post from Rooster Booster yesterday was the most accurate reasoning I’ve read amongst the millions of posts here on the subject.

That would not surprise me at all.
But from what we have seen on the course, he has to jump better.

                            • Ile Atlantique seeing a bit of support for the Supreme. Could end up being switched to the shorter trip and be Townend's pick. Gone back over his runs for my blog. Good hurdler who travels well and got picked up by a horse with a turn of foot at the finish last time. 2nd season hurdler as well so will have plenty of jumps training and probably explains why he jumps so well. Think he would have a good each way chance if he rocked up in this now.
