Yeah today was a much improved performance, but he had it ALL his own way, and 1 or 2 clearly not intent on getting too close today. I'd say Tullyhill would be Dannys ride in the race

If your Townend, you still favour the Ballyburn - Supreme and ile Atlantique - Baring Bingham plan I think.
That way, Townend starts off his meeting riding the very strong fave in the first race, something I'm sure he'd like as he probably won't be on the fave in the arkle or champion hurdle, and Lossiemouth would look like his only other strong fave on the day. Second fave would probably be Tullyhill who he'd have picked Ballyburn over. Then he likely takes on Slade steel, mystical power and reading Tommy wrong with ile Atlantique in a competitive race.
The alternative is saying he wants to ride tullyhill and Ballyburn, pushing Ballyburn to the baring Bingham. In this scenario he starts off the meeting on what won't be anywhere near as strong a fave at sp imo, as mystical power probably goes supreme to avoid Ballyburn and Townend doesn't have the option to ride him, and I think mystical power possibly starts fave. I think the first scenario still sounds preferable to me and probably still his best chance of winning both races imo.

I don't think we have enough evidence to support your theory having any merit really.
I'm sure he'd like the fav in every race, but the horses going to the races where they have the best chance will surely be his thought process
Ultimately you're putting it down to Ile Atlantique being better than Tullyhill - which he may well be.... but being SP fav in the first race on Tues or Weds I doubt would have much impact
