  • Every year I tell myself don't bother with the bartlett

Every year I back 3 or 4 that are all in the bin

      I would agree.
      They both look good horses.
And I think they went a decent enough gallop on first glance.
Not sure if Predators will go Bartlett, but both could be players for sure, and it may hinge on ground.
I think Dancing City should probably be favourite for Bartlett now after Mullins comments before the race.

      • It's the Bartlett, the Turners and the Ballymore for me. Learned a couple of years ago to just leave them until the day. Ante Post in each of them has been a nightmare for me in the past. Have to keep reminding myself when I get tempted by the next "good thing".

        • Willie confirmed Dancing City will go for the Albert Bartlett - just went in again at 12/1 - expect DenmanSacre to be right with those jockey bookings

He also said Predators Gold will go for the Baring Bingham

          Usual warnings

We'll see by the end of the day how it stacks up timewise but he has the ideal profile now. 6 runs under rules now before the Bartlett and older than the typical novice. If PG had won that as DC won it, he'd be 4/1 fav.

              Good

Means il get my money back on predators

Was one of the reasons I liked the bet. Could only see him in the bartlett if he won.

              • I think it confirms my thoughts he'd have been in the Ballymore either way to be honest

Dancing City now has much better form than high class hero so should be shorter

                  • Worth noting 14s available Antepost with 365 if you don’t mind not having the NRNB concession.

Doesn't work like that though exactly, you can't ignore that he also had has much worse form going in to the race

A potential that it's a one-off performance needs to be factored in.

Also, that's assuming that we never factor in what another horse could have done... I'd throw out there that High Class Hero would have won the race, as he was a better horse than Dancing City before what we saw earlier...

That's why he'll stay shorter, probably.

                      • If anyone's looked at the times, Dancing City compares very well to the juveniles and handicappers. Slower early on than the juveniles but caught up a lot from 3 out and the juveniles went quick from 2 out. Good performance.

                        • Predators Gold had every chance on the outside but Dancing City kept on finding for pressure and went on to win by a length and a quarter. To Jetara’s credit, she stuck on gamely for third.

“It was great, I thought the extra trip would suit him,” said Mullins.

“Danny was good on him again, he always just pops up when you least think it!

“I thought Predators Gold might win the race, but Paul said he was doing a little too much throughout.

“That ground is a lot softer than we thought it would be. I think that suited Dancing City more.”

He went on: “The point-to-point experience he had let him settle more, he spat out the bit early on whereas Paul’s fella was too keen, we ran him over two miles at Christmas and that made him a little keen for this, going up in trip.

“I think he (the winner) looks ready made for the Albert Bartlett, he has the experience, he goes the trip and he’ll handle the ground. That’s where we hope he’ll go.

“It was a good performance, he’s improving and on the up. Predators Gold looks more like a Ballymore horse.

“I was disappointed with Loughglynn and I Will Be Baie just couldn’t handle the ground. Loughglynn didn’t jump early on and got worse as the race went on, that was a big disappointment.

“I’m here to find out as well, we think we know but If we did know we’d probably all be driving bigger cars!”

The winner was cut to 12-1 from 50s for the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham by Betfair.

                          • Anyone think Ile Atlantique could be Paul Townends ride in the supreme?
If Ballyburn doesnt impress tomorrow, id imagine IA would be the first pick

Depends on tomorrow’s race. If DLL won then it’d be him. But it’s certainly a possibility. But I can see IA being Patrick’s ride wherever he ends up as I know he’s a big fan of the horse.

Can't see IA running in a Supreme. Looks all over a Ballymore horse to me but probably just not good enough at that level.
