  • I just sort of hunted him round, tried to find a rhythm," said Jacob.

“I just had to give him a squeeze, he’s gutsy, he’s tough. The step up in trip has obviously helped a lot and he’s probably a three-mile chaser further down the line.

“It’s a lovely race to win, I’ll take that!”

    • Mullins quotes (Irish Racing)

They are a nice bunch of horses coming along and Daryl was very good on Readin Tommy Wrong. He gave him a very cute ride and let the main protagonists fight it out before taking it off them in the end.

"He’s a horse that is improving all the time, very brave and it’s good for Irish jump breeding that Authorized is standing here this season.

"That puts him right in the picture for the top prizes in the spring. He looks a typical Ballymore horse and has just kept improving.

"Paul was very happy with Ile Atlantique at all stages of the race. He did all the donkey work and as I said Daryl was very cute and got a tow the whole way and just outstayed him in the last couple of strides.

"The two of them are going away all the way to the line. I felt before the race that it was the top novice hurdle run in Ireland or England over the whole Christmas period so I’m very happy they have run so well."

      • The novice hurdles this season just look a complete lottery

        • I don't think I'll be steaming into any of the Irish novices this season they all seem very beatable

Yep. Gordon had reservations about him staying and he was ridden to get the trip today. Supreme it is.

I would take nothing from that race for the Supreme personally

                • With all these races over the last month being run on very soft ground

The form may play out very differently on spring ground in march

                  Very tough this year

Actually that's looking a very promising double there.

Or a handicap, needing one more run!

Jeriko for sure. There is no one better then Nicky at training a 2m for the festival IMO.

Happy enough with this 50/1 ticket now, hopefully the owners will be more inclined to listen to Willies post race thoughts than Daryl’s 3m thoughts. The double green don’t run many in the Albert Bartlett from recent memory. They’re more inclined to take things slowly with their novices.

…I think the 3m quote was referring to when he goes chasing. Todays 150-1 TWAF looking very good now, not that I took it.
