Wouldn't be looking at the Supreme myself, they left him out of the FC race as not quick enough for 2m, DLL the quicker why he went but IA viewed as the better horse.

      • Do we think Il Atlantique might skip the lalors for the Moscow, dont suppose anyone has heard anything?

          • 6/1 NRMB seems very fair for ADTS. If he blows out on return then money back.

            • Ive backed Its For Me for the Supreme @ 11/1 (boosted with Hills) NRMB. The more I look at it the more sense it makes. He raced way too freely on the level and even though he was keen on debut I thought he looked more settled than he had looked previously. Jumping was fine and the form looks good as he's beaten a subsequent Grade 1 winner without too much fuss. A lot of Willies are coming on chunks for a run and he's posted a debut RPR of 141, so we could easily see north of 150+ next time out which would put him firmly in the frame as being Willies number one Supreme horse. He has Cheltenham experience which I like and was far from disgraced in the bumper given how keen he was. In a division that looks wide open I'll take a chance on him. If Paul really wanted to I think he could have wound IFM up earlier and beaten CP even further, and that looks like much better form than JDR who is half the price, never been to Cheltenham and who has had two runs to run to a higher level than that and hasn't. Simon and Isaac are really hitting the frame now as top owners with a few recent festival winners and I think a double figure price with the protection of NRMB makes sense all things considered.

              • His initial RPR is something I couldn’t ignore
however…. I’ve decided to take a risk and backed Its for Me for the ballymore at 33/1. Risky bet but I plan to double Its for me for the DRF and supreme so I have him covered in both races

yup, he’s a keen horse but his first run was impressive enough and the form is working out pretty well

i just have a feeling that connections will try and retain the Ballymore, and given the current state of the novice division, we may see more horses run in the Ballymore than the supreme ?? Which would help give him cover

Ruby doesn’t appear to like him though, judging from his response in one of the RTC podcasts. I just don’t see Mullins having any top novices this year outside of It’s For Me

It's For Me for the Moscow Flyer billymag , no?

Being the double green I thought you might have heard something.

                  • Ohh yeah, he could go Moscow - Similar path to Impaire

He's a PTP winner so it's not beyond the realms of possibility but I'd be amazed if they went Ballymore with Its For Me. It looks a far more competitive race than the Supreme and the last thing you do with a horse who has a tendency to race freely is step them up in trip - they'd simply be making a hard task much harder. I also don't think connections race plan that way. Paul is on record saying a 'a stronger pace will suit him' after his debut win and he'd get that in the Supreme, not the Ballymore. Not torpedoing the bet as you've got a big enough price, but for those reasons thats why he's 33's. 16/1 NRMB might be safer play if you can back with Hills.

I considered this angle when NRNB appeared but... JP loves any Cheltenham runner, and the trainer will be desperate for a runner so could probably easily convince JP still to run. Obviously everything fitness wise being well.

Trainer put me off this angle to be honest. If he was with Mullins or someone then I'd take the bet now NRNB.

                        • Having JP as the owner is a bonus here. Because he spreads his horses around, even he doesn't have the definitive information for a reliable bet but he will allow both/all horses to take their chance. I remember when Captain Cee Bee turned over Binocular in the Supreme and this year could be similar.

It's not a bonus in this scenario as a bet is it? That's the point.

It's a bonus for the sport to have him, for sure.

He'll not run him if his injury flares up again. That's where I was coming from. He'd have to win or run very close on return in what is likely to be a penalty kick maiden to be considered for the Supreme imo.
