  • Couldn't sleep and I'm just wondering could age be a negative for the Supreme. A 4yo hasn't won this since 1999.

Daddy Long Legs already doesn't meet willies usually one being flat bred and/or not from france or bumpers, also dawned on me he'll only be 4 if he runs also..

    • Or perhaps its just a trend that looks bad because its rare. Not necessarily a negative. (4yo in a supreme)

DLL will be 5 when he runs, and 5yos have a decent record as of late in the race

As Jim said DLL will be 5. Also raced at Saint Cloud, is French bred and has a flat pedigree.

            • I saw a mention of a 4yo race at Limerick he could run in, instead of the future champions, do you think there's any truth in this?

There used to be- Galopin ran in it.

However, at a glance i don't see it still on the calendar.

If you just open that, it gives you a list of the races. Use find function + search Limerick....or scroll down to xmas/ny period

Maybe. But Townend said after the race that he deserved to take his chance in the Future Champions, which to me, implied that Willie had already mapped out his next race.

The Sporting Limerick? It’s a listed handicap now open to 3 and 4 year olds on 29th Dec.

the match race last year probably sealed its faith as a grade 2.

Needs 3 runs for it though.
