IMO it was a strong race , the deepest Novice Hurdle we've seen so far. The 2nd and particularly the 3rd both had decent back form and Gordon's 2nd string was no pushover. Gordon's horses are right on it ATM with everything winning so it was always going to be tough to beat them. Slade Steel was produced perfectly by Rachel and he jumped the last well and put daylight between him and the 2nd before staying on and winning a touch cosily. All this was despite the ground. For me he'll be so much better on Spring ground. He has everything you want in a Ballymore horse and can improve again on what he did yesterday.
A translation of my original post !
Hes got no chance.

Why do people think differently ?
What i'd like to know though is if slade steel isn't good enough, who in your opinion so far is? And who that we haven't seen yet, could be?

Not sure yet. Not seen enough of most horses.
But I’d happily rule out all that ran in the grade 2 yesterday for grade one festival race winning purposes.
Could easily be wrong but that’s the conclusion at the minute.
not on my laptop at minute but the ones from memory I have still got backed for the ballymore are
Down memory lane
predators gold
gidleigh park
farren glory
id be surprised if more than one actually runs in the race but happy to hold for now at the prices taken.

hes been as big or near to it for the supreme
I was expecting news of injury to be honest
but as regards the form I just thought he did not get a clear run around the bend and had to sit
then got out and was going to do it easy but bunny hopped the last and still got up. Value for a lot more than what it looked. Much like last years winner. And it’s a grade one.
hes had to quicken twice and Gordon thinks he’s a three mile chaser so the ballymore at 100-1 was worth taking and wait and see his next run.
I do not see him as a likely winner but hope to trade this at some point or if he backs it up then let it run of course.
