I thought it worth pointing out his breeding being very questionable for one of the races at the festival where it's historically significant.
He looks more like a horse bought as a dual purpose type to me, but if confirmed going novice chasing then fair enough.
The closest example I can give as a comparison is Energumene, who at this stage was priced around 66-1 (at least 50-1), He had a similar number of runs under his belt and one impressive maiden hurdle win. Obviously he's with Mullins and Bloom and went novice chasing in a year when Mullins had been beaten in the supreme the season before. We had a clear arkle favourite (supreme winner shishkin) that year, whilst this year we will likely have the supreme one and two.
After an impressive chase win on debut over 2m 4f (the distance merchants were swayed by this, and not his relations and run style) you could still get 20-1 on Energumene in January, just prior to when he beat the flat bred and shorter priced (at the time) for the arkle - Captain Guinness (never backed that bag of shit either). Similar discussions were had at the time, and in other years before with horses like Mengli fucking khan.
"He's the One" has pointed out that their are chasers in the bloodline of the granddaddy sires he's related too, but literally "Hewick's the one" he could name that anyone would have heard of, and not directly related either.
His breeding for an arkle is poor and therefore his price is poor. IMO
That's not to say he can't win it or become a good chaser, as many flat bred types can have good careers, but very few make champion chasers, or arkle winners.
And Triple Threat could turn out into a brilliant National Hunt stud for all I know.
Someone save this post and come back to me with it after he's won the arkle
