Yep. Needs another chase run anywhere. He may just have time to sneak one in after his break.

Gars De Sceaux is the one that interests me for Gordon. Priced up at 33/1. Already had 3 chase runs, and finished 3rd to Mahler Mission at Navan, when keeping on, over 3m. Very lightly raced, and any amount of improvement still possible as he's only 7.

I agree Gars de Sceaux is an interesting one, trained by Gordon, owned by JP,who loves a NHC runner, and qualified. He probably lacks the class required, but as you say has plenty of scope for improvement and at 33's could be worth a small interest. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

            • ….so, nearly decision time.

MoM hinted he has 3 selections. He’s mentioned Nick Rockett & BrighterDaysAhead. I think there’s a good chance they’ll be included & I’d guess Gala Marceau is the 3rd given the support for her after her impressive win in France.

Which ironically is a patent/treble I've been pressing for a few weeks now.
I look forward to confirmation of the fourth leg...

…yep, I’m the same. I’ve been using free bets on the Trixie combinations.

                      • I'm thinking Envoi Allen could be a late entry to fill the remaining Yankee place....

Ryanair. Won easily this year. Was on the bridal some way out and could have been called the winner a long way out. Rach could have pressed the button anytime. For all his troubles, the 2nd Shishkin was flattered to finish so close. Doesn't stay a truly run 3 miles so guaranteed to go for a repeat . As I see it, every horse in front of him in the betting is very likely not to turn up so he is the current 'sleeping' favourite. Already a 3 time Festival winner, 10/1 is way too big for the current champion.

                        • I find the Ryanair a nightmare to figure out this far in advance as I've no idea who'll end up in it. Looking down the betting, the one that stood out for me was Energumene at 20s. If El Fabiolo continues his upward trajectory, I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that Townend and Mullins will split the two and take home both trophies rather than one. Appreciate that it might be a bit too speculative for the Yankee

I was thinking Energumene could end up there, though Willie is not bothered about running two in the race as he done with Energumene and Chacun, possibly others too, however it hasn't stopped me using a couple of free bets on him for the Ryanair, just in case!

Would find it very unlikely Energumene doesn’t arrive to ch.chase given he’s on for the triple.. unless his performances fall way off the mark.

The way El Fab jumps very tight to some is just that bit risky, suspect even if he is the no.1 in the race Mullins would rather have Enerugmene coming in behind him just incase.. Still ?310k to be earned between the first 2 home in the champion chase..

saying that looking through the Ryanair market very hard to pin the tail on any Mullins horse just yet.

                              Allaho - Is he healthy?
Ferny Hollow - Will we ever see him?
Blue Lord - Not a grade 1 horse?
Saint Roi - chance he turns out here?
Kilcruit - chance he turns out here?
HEC - still only 6, perhaps he has a chance?
ADV - just not good enough to even consider this?
Appreciate it - Is he regressing?
Sir Gerhard / James Du Berlais/ Flame Bearer - again are either good enough?

Mullins runners this year all finished in the last 3 and at the moment without Allaho it’s hard to see where his strength is this year

The moment Impervious went over the line in the Mares chase I saw her as a Ryanair horse.
Five chase runs last season, RPR of 137 on debut up to 162 at Punchestown progressing with each run.
For me her 7lb pull puts her clear in the race, two possible spanners are Shishkin if Hendo forgets to enter him in the Gold Cup, and Allaho if he comes back as good as he was, but allowing for normal progression from novice season she should be way ahead of them all.
I’ve had a decent single 16/1 and 14/1 and have been adding to just about every multi I’m placing at 10/1 which I still think is huge value and have every intention of continuing to add her to more multis.

I was delighted when Saxon Warrior said she should be a short price fav and as the Godfather of RPR’s his endorsement is good enough for me…
