Weird one this year. What with the Constitution Hill scenario and the lack of TWAR prices I just can't get excited about any festival horse. Looks like I'll be waiting until the Autumn now.

Could mix it up and have a Derby Runner of your choice + 3 from here .

This time of year is always tricky for the yankee but races like the BANC, Stayers, Ballymore, NH Chase might be a little easier to find horses with a chance and whose target might be a little clearer (he says).
Embassy Gardens is one I've been chipping away for the NH Chase, can't imagine he'll be looking anywhere else and is 25/1.

I'm still a Gala Marceau believer, the extra half mile I think will suit her better than Lossiemouth and she is 20/1.
Saxon Warrior is a big fan of West Balboa at 20/1 in the same race

I'm still struggling to see why Good Time Jonny is still 33/1 for the Stayers and in the same race Shoot First was massively hyped before the Pertemps last season and talked about as a future Stayers champion, Hills have that one at 40/1.

Good Land has to be of interest to some in here for the Turners, 20/1 ?

I'm sure we'll find four...

…of course he did, it’s me getting confused in my old age. No GW this month.

He has hinted at including Maxxum (NHC) but didn’t sound too convinced. Nick Rockett (BANC) has had supporters this month and last, so he might find a way in.

I think it’s hard to have strong views at this time of the year unless you’re playing races like the Champion Chase, Gold Cup, Champion hurdle etc and then you find little value unless you believe the fav can get beat/won’t turn up.
Novice races have been a horror story for me these past two seasons as I keep getting targets wrong, but those are the races where value exists so for these yankees you have to take flyers, not sure what others think but I can’t get too excited about having the likes of Galopin des Champs and El Fabiolo in a bunch of these at 7/4…

I was very impressed with her two bumper wins and she's out of the same dam as Mighty Potter and French Dynamite. Double figures about her doesn't look bad to me considering the target looks fairly obvious.

Is there anything left, of note, happening in May or shall we draw a line under this one? Seem to be struggling for ideas....

I think this is where having themes is very helpful to focus the conversation in the summer months where not much else is happening. A championship race Yankee between the big 4 + Ryanair and a novice chase Yankee might be worth pursuing. I know trainer Yankees make more sense once the season has begun. A 'didn't win at the last festival' theme might be interesting or perhaps a festival winners Yankee is better looking at some of the prices

He won’t be in this months. He IS a certainty this year. All the years have been leading to this. He’s a stayer. That’s where it was going wrong. To have run that well over 2m and 2m 4f just shows what a weapon he is.

Gaelic wins the stayers by 5 lengths. Up the good thing
