And I’m sure CB loved that!!

that’s all he has to say, “out target is the Cheltenham festival, we want to run this and that race, before hand, and running him over testing ground will impact that”
        Yup

He just doesn't want to risk bottoming his horses in the less prestigious races on horrible ground

Which is all he needs to say not that it's unsafe or dangerous which it isnt

They didn't even bother covering their course last weekend and it was still on. They've got it right. Just get on with it. Start fining the likes of Henderson for pulling horses out if it is deemed safe and raceable. Imagine if footballers were pulled out of games if it were too firm. Just getting pathetic now . And don't start on fences/hurdles being missed out because of low sun. I never knew the sun was higher 10 years ago.

Has he said the ground is unsafe or dangerous for his horses tomorrow?

Is that not just his opinion?
And he felt it was irresponsible to run him?
              Again his opinion?

The inference I get from that is he was seriously concerned about the welfare of his horse if he ran him.
Part of the trainers job I would have thought.

If I was the journalist I’d remind him he ran constitution hill on heavy as a very inexperienced horse.

Absolutely, but that quote referred to Ascot when the ground was deemed too firm for CH by his trainer
Ive yet to see a quote that running him on heavy is dangerous.

I’m still trying to shake off the image of a naked Nicky Henderson throwing paint around everywhere…thanks for that Q

Because it isn't hard enough finding owners in this sport. Lets add another cost to that by fining anyone that doesn't want to run their horse lmao. Come on Lobos you can't seriously think that's the answer.

At the end of the day if the owner doesn't want to run their horse that's up to them. They pay the bills, entry fees etc.

                      Oh righto
assumed he’d said about this weekend
                      thought the comments seemed familiar

                      • Be interesting if he does pull the champion and still runs shishkin !
                        That would seem odd.

Really? I suspect the trainer thinks that one needs to run to have a chance in his target race and the other doesn’t. You see it differently?

Owners have very, very little say. Trainers make the decisions the majority of the time. Maybe owners should have bigger balls. And yes, I'm deadly serious. Fine the trainer who makes the decision.

                              Definitely
Who has the hardest task on Boxing Day ?
One will be massive odds on and running 2 miles.
Shishkin got to go three and odds against.

How can he possibly be so sure it’ll affect constitution hills chances but not shishkin ?

If I was a journalist I’d ask him that question as well.
He’d likely not answer and get upset about it though.

Was just reading that shishkin had a gallop at Kempton and jumped 10 fences so he could well be pulled as well Q
