      • Would love this to happen....

        From Matt Brocklebank

'So, here it is... we all need a long-term plan and if you're striving for greatness then those plans may initially look quite daunting, borderline unrealistic. Here’s one for Constitution Hill, working back from the ultimate goal at Prestbury Park on Friday March 14, 2025:
Cheltenham Gold Cup, Cheltenham - March 2025
King George VI Chase, Kempton - December 2024
        1965 Chase, Ascot - November 2024
Melling Chase, Aintree – April 2024
Queen Mother Champion Chase, Cheltenham - March 2024
Game Spirit Chase, Newbury - February 2024
Henry VIII Novices’ Chase, Sandown – December 2023
Novice chase of choice – November 2023'

        Do it Nicky !!!!!

            And???????

Certainly covers owners criteria of needing to know if he stays 3m before going Gold Cup. Start off 2024 leisurely winning Arkle and finish the year off winning a King George over 3m. Works for me as well.

Supreme, Champion Hurdle,Arkle,King George and Gold Cup. Definitely GOAT then.

Agreed, but it’s nigh on a certainty the next one on the list, the Arkle, he’ll never be seen in.

The race that’s run just over an hour later on that day……that’s the one you’ll be seeing him in, if fit & well.

No decision made yet though and won't be until the end of this month as he's still as fat as a pig. It's the most anticipated decision ever in NH racing. Can't wait.

                • With all the news coming out today, how exactly would they be sure that he can stay the gold cup distance if they go chasing?? Nicky has always said that he won’t go chasing unless we know he stays 3 and a 1/4 miles

                  • He made the decision back in April. Buckley caught up in May, We get told in September.

See post 324. That's how they'll find out if he goes chasing.

Saying he has to be sure the horse will stay the gold cup distance and announcement will be made next week. Theres no new evidence to uncover over the next week. As Spectre said this decision was made ages ago.
                              He'll be staying hurdling.

But Mr Lobos, you’re suggesting with regards to post 324 that he’ll be spending a year/ whole season chasing over 2 miles. You seem convinced by this.

Let me instead try to convince you.

He won’t be chasing over 2 miles next season.

                                Novice nor otherwise.
