If the Racing Post had to find space to find quotes every time Mr Mullins spoke about whether all of his elite 50+ horses were hurdling/chasing/going up/ dropping back in August, they would lose a reasonable amount of credibility as a business fairly quickly.

        He's not anymore.

Best price of the main bookmakers now is 8/11. Can get some 4/5 if you trust a couple of lesser known bookmakers.

        • Now ideally for me mr mullins decides to send impaire et passe to the turners, obviously that's my pocket talking !

          • ….I remember watching RTV on the morning of the Ballymore and one of their ‘experts’ said he’d already got on IEP for next years Champion Hurdle. He wasn’t Irish, can’t remember who it was & no idea if he had close connections with the stable but IEP was 20-1 at that point.

The only thing I question with all of this is Casey was interviewed on the wednesday morning when they were all out in the middle of the track, and he was adamant they went the right way (Bally over supreme) as he was much more a 2 and half miler than the minimum trip. Obviously things change, but Punchestown doesn't really give any more positive views on them thoughts

                • Always makes me laugh when trainers and owners talk about how Big or enormous the horses returning after Summer breaks are.
Are they saying they're fat ?
Or do horses grow more in the months of May to July ?
                  Like my fucking lawn.

If I don't see my grandson for 3 months, I expect that he'll have grown a little when he toddles through the door.
I've never thought "He looks enormous"

Although I once had a cat called Zimmer (after Bob Dylan), and he went missing for 8 months, and when he turned back up and peered through the window, He did actually look "enormous"
Was quite scary as I was only about 9. Like a zombie cat back from the dead (I'd compartmentalised it)

Although we later found out a woman 3 streets down had been feeding him, which explained a lot.

My read on the comments if Buckley is to be taken on his word is that CH is definitely not going to Arkle or QMCC and if in the next few weeks they discover he stays they might consider going novice Chasing because the only reason to go Chasing is to win the Gold Cup. Thus my view is CH most likely targets for 2024 are (1) Champion Hurdle (2) BANC and (3) Turners. I have Cashed Out on 7 AP bets where I had CH in Arkle, Marine Nationale in Champion Hurdle and Impaire Et Passe in Champion Hurdle. My AP strategy is now based on CH going Champion Hurdle (he wins), Marine Nationale going Arkle and IEP going Turners. Fingers crossed.

                      • Hmmm. Take a step back and sniff the air. Just because you’ve had a bet antepost on a horse doesn’t mean they end up in that race. An understanding and acceptance that there may be a different target is usually helpful.

I have literally stated I Cashed Out on 7 AP bets because I don't think they will end up in the races I bet them in so I don't understand what point you are calling me out on. And I have now nailed my colours as stated to "CH going Champion Hurdle (he wins), Marine Nationale going Arkle and IEP going Turners". Trust me I understand and accept only too well the dangers of AP betting. This aint my first rodeo.

                            • Owner and trainer should have a chat. Playing around.

Won't be backing him again. Will concentrate on others .

                              • If they weren't sure whether he will stay at the end of last season and he's only just come back in from his summer break - how are they going to feasibly know if he will stay before they need to make a decision re which way to go?

If they also haven't schooled him over a fence yet then this is also surely not going to happen for a while if he's only just come back in.

Is it not all just being played up for the media/attention and they have already decided?
