My gut feeling is we won’t see him at the festival, it’s more likely imo to be too late in the day for this sort of thing to happen
    I so hope I’m wrong!!
Watch the exchanges tonight, they'll know on the yard what grade the scope returned, if it's a G1 or G2 they'll be money for him as the lads can't help themselves, G3 or G4 he'll drift as they'll let friends know to lay off their positions, G5 and he won't be running again this season but that's unlikely as people at the gallop would've seen blood on him after the gallop.

    • Tests back this afternoon at which point they'll know what to do with him.

      • Wouldn’t surprise me if both Lossiemouth & Zanahiyr end up here now.

All of Lossiemouth’s form is at 2m, not 2m4f. Get what you’re saying Kevloaf that she won’t go without Paul on board but her owner’s a risk taker & who’d he have instead? Danny Mullins IMO would be a more than able deputy. Yes, State Man’s a machine & on all ratings is ahead of her, but “Switch Switchy” has got history of this too hasn’t he? They’ve said continually she’s going to the Mares unless “something happens” - Con Hill being out would surely be that something? State Man still finishes ahead of her IMO though.

As for Zanahiyr, he’s hardly lit up chasing - e/w prize money for 3rd here vs placing (at best IMO) in Turners/Arkle when Bective also have Found a Fifty/American Mike… 25s e/w NRNB bet I like here rather than looking at the likes of Colonel Mustard/Pied Piper to fill frame.

If he doesn’t make it, gutted we won’t see one of the best hurdlers in our lifetime run in 2 weeks time.

              Very much doubt it.

Yes noticed that, think Arclight of the top of my head was one of his, went out like a light. Not sure I want any of his onside till I see a few run

There's probably been a bug in the yard for the last few weeks. My dad has a share in the owners group horse called the carpenter and he was found to be coughing after the race, he went out like a light.

                    • He will be fine. What it should highlight to connections though is how vulnerable they can be to miss the big day. Make sure they run him on the lesser days so you aren't looking back and wondering what could have been.

Agree. I also think by not running then potentially they become even more fragile.

Just going back through my comms from Owners Group and The Carpenter broke a blood vessel in his last run at Exeter at the end of January.
That was the given reason for the poor run and the resulting course of antibiotics.

So unlikely to be related to Con Hill

Bowen came back and during the briefing said the horse was coughing and whistling when pulled up. Those were his words post race anyway.
