  • Tipple

What is your chosen tipple for the festival and where will you be watching the action?

Day one: I shall be drinking tea and watching at home.

Day two: I might pop to the local for a few pints and watch it there. Marston's Pedigree is in order.

Day three: Depending on funds I plan to get a bus into Lichfield and watch it in a pub drinking Peroni.

Day four: Day four: Going to record it and watch it in the evening from home as I am picking Grandson up at 3:30 pm. Tea and biscuits.

…if I’m winning I always open a bottle of Aussie Whites. It’s a popular tipple with old blokes in Liverpool where it’s also called ‘falling over juice’. I was introduced to it when I was playing footy in the early 1970s.

Up to 2 years ago (pre-COVID) it was the pub every day drinking Guinness with pals but the world has changed. Will have a few rums tonight.

Will be Guinness in various south London and Kent pubs Tues to Thurs… by St Patrick’s Day on Friday I’ll be sick of the stuff and probably be the only one on something else!

That’s so funny, as a fellow scouser, we all congregate at my brothers on Gold Cup day.
Hes built a bar at the back of his house and for each winner, we do a celebratory “weighed in” and each down an Aussie white.
He’s been moaning to me it’s a lot harder to get hold of this year.

….it’s as rare as hens teeth but I have a few 1.5L bottles in the garage. I get it from a site called Champagne One, it’s usually listed under ‘Yates’.
