  • The Annual 'Naiad' Festival Fat Jockey Meet Up.

Last season we used the 'Naiad' as an excuse for those Fat Jockey's in attendance at the Festival to have a meet up and put faces to the names that we talk to all year long.

As was the case last year, the Ultima is the chosen race, so can I suggest that anyone on course on Tuesday comes down to the parade ring soon after the Arkle.

The meeting spot is all the way round as far as you can get to the left of the parade ring. We meet right at the top of the parade ring steps, just past the food trucks and next to the camera gantry that looks down on the parade ring.

You'll know you're in the right spot if you look down and you are looking down at the Presentation area from the side, and behind that is the ITV Racing crew. Essentially if you walk around as far as you can at the top of the parade ring steps and you can't walk any further, you're there.

Most of you will recognise Kev, Jono, and myself, who will all be there, so we should be easy to find. Particularly as Jono will be the tallest man in the entire racecourse and can't possibly be missed. I suspect a few will still have their Fat Jockey badges so you might spot a few of those too.

Hopefully Paul (Bayofreedom) will be there, and I think Rich (Nortons Coin), and Bo (Topofthegame) plan to be, just as they were last year. Jon (Upthehammers) of The Cheltenham Exchange Podcast fame will likely be there, plus several more who joined us last year.

There's the Parade Ring big screen to watch the race on. We just need to shuffle down a few steps as the steps begin to clear, so we won't miss a thing.

After the introductions, we can either celebrate wildly as the Naiad crosses the line, or you can chase me through the racecourse with pitchforks if he doesn't run as expected.

Hopefully we can have a bigger turnout this year, and it would be great to meet as many of you as possible, And given we'll be so close to the ITV team we may just make enough noise to get their attention when Nassalam does the business for us!!!

So this is the official roll call to see who's at HQ on Day 1. Who's in boys? Put your hands up on here.

You have to come along for the Naiad Dan. Otherwise you'll be able to hear us from your living room when he wins.

I reckon if we were on your namesake off 144 we'd be quids in. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I'll be there, looking forward to catching up with everyone again.

For anyone who hasn't met up before, I did it last year and it's a great opportunity to put faces to names. I thoroughly recommend coming along

That's two of us EA. Blind as a bat me. Do what I do and just go to where all the noise is coming from.

About 8 foot Stormez. Generally you'll spot him stripping leaves from branches.

                          I'd say 6-7 at a guess.

It'll be really good to catch up again next week. I think most of the last years crowd will be there, but hopefully we can get a good few more there this year.

Can't make it this year unfortunately. Really gutted generally, but even more so now.

I hope you guys have a great day and get to cheer the Naiad home.
