      • There's only very small liquidity but betfair have a specials market on Will the going be Good to Soft for Race 1, "Yes" is now a shade of odds on.

So that suggests we're not in for a deluge before Tuesday.

That said, I'm a bit concerned about the early Wednesday rain coming in time to scupper Camprond's chances again!

Just cover An Epic Song, still 33/1 with 365, in case it does turn out to be bad

            • From the Clerk:

'12mm of rain in the last 24hrs. Covering of snow (@07:30). Snow flurries should clear by 10:00 today and then remain mainly dry. Overnight frost followed by a dry day tomorrow until some spells of rain/sleet in the evening. Dry during the day on Sunday with a band of rain moving in during the evening and through the night into Monday morning (5-8mm). An unsettled outlook for Festival week with occasional showers'.

If that forecast is correct, just 5-8mm on Sunday evening, following a dry rest of today and a dry Saturday and most of Sunday, I can only see good to soft on Tuesday, and the rain due during the week would be equivalent to watering. I can see ideal jumping ground all week at this stage, nothing extreme.

              What does anyone else think?

I'm with you. This heavy ground horse searching is nonsense imo, there will be good in the going of some description come Tuesday.

Keep posting Irish. Your posts and GG are the ones I’m looking out for. Many thanks

Personally think if its soft at the moment, then given that info is correct, it will be soft on Tuesday.

excellent! Another YR convert. I remember in prep for the wedding day there was lots of rain forecast, so downloaded a billion different apps. The only one that got it spot on (thankfully, as it only rained when it didn’t matter) was YR, a Norwegian based app. Been raving about it ever since and is genuinely more accurate than most.

                            • Hey Gang!

Officially Soft now, going map suggest very little Good to Soft around.

A few short, sharp and localised downpours around Saturday evening/night. Other than that, it's looking relatively dry until Sunday evening.

Winds pick up quite considerably over coming days (thatll help dry a little), peaking at 40 to 50 mph on Monday. Would have been interesting if day 1 was on Monday as the wind would have been head on up the straight. Eases and swings round to side by Tuesday.

All eyes remain on Sunday evening through to Monday for main rainfall. Still seeing ranges of 4mm to 20mm and everything inbetween. Median forecast is 9mm for the 24hrs.

Thursday looks a pig of a day currently but is a long way out and theres very little agreement between models at this stage.

Day 1 ground forecast based on median rainfall predictions = Soft, but all depends on that Sun/Mon rain

                              • The wind will dry it so quickly.
