Not sure if you can get specific rain amounts from here but it's a good indication of what the weather has done.
I think from tomorrow the Cheltenham website and Turftrax cover the going/weather etc...

Tells you exactly how much they've had....weather station is in the middle of the course. Only 0.5mm in past 24hrs so far. Chance of a heavy shower around midnight.

Models consistently showing wetter weather over next 2 weeks, some very heavy bands passing across the country. Its really going to be case of where it lands, heavy stuff will be localised and hard to predict exact location until within 12 hrs.

I wouldn't be surprised if the taps were turned on again before racing...

Runs last night and this morning are favouring less in the way of heavy rain.

The key periods that will determine ground are:

Today - chance of heavy spells of snow / rain throught the day

Tomorrow - most of the heavy rain is to the north of Cheltenham but it could come south

Sunday night into Monday - after a relatively dry weekend this the potentially heaviest period in the lead up

Tuesday and Wednesday day - look pretty dry at this stage

Rest is too far out to have any confidence.

I'd change my prediction to Good to Soft (Soft in places) now

Met office say nothing major til Sunday night/Monday morning and then dry again... Should have at least some good in the description? Also very windy Monday which will dry it out.

it'd been sleet in cheltenham pretty much the whole day. I'd be surprised if it isn't soft / soft in places after today as there's quite a bit of surface water now.

This is good imo isn't it? A week ago we were worried about it being a road. Proper jumps racing ground.

In 2018 I despaired when it snowed just before the fest and it was gonna be heavy ground. A whole rake of favs won!

Course now updating daily. That was this morning. Let's see what that sleet today has done to the ground. Heavy rain today or just intermittent rain?

I mean this is just my completely unqualified view so I wouldnt read too much into it - but light rain/sleet still going now. I'd think something with soft in part of description day one would be perfect

Im a million miles from knowing what I’m talking about but recognising the ridiculously low water table I’m thinking that it would need a significant amount of rain the actual week of the festival for the new course to start on soft ground? Any clerks on here
