More importantly for those of us up there all week, from Tuesday to Friday it looks lovely racing weather, pretty much dry all the way through with plenty of sunshine. We don't need days like the Wednesday of last year when it was utterly disgusting on course.

Course now updating daily. That was this morning. Let's see what that sleet today has done to the ground. Heavy rain today or just intermittent rain?

Im a million miles from knowing what I’m talking about but recognising the ridiculously low water table I’m thinking that it would need a significant amount of rain the actual week of the festival for the new course to start on soft ground? Any clerks on here

You can actually check ground water levels through the British Geological Survey and despite what Matt Tombs and others have been saying on Twitter the ground water levels are actually in normal ranges vs historical averages for West of England.

Obviously you cannot legislate for any watering that may take place, and I’m sure there are many other variables and so everything is with the caveat that things could change....
