Only 0.2mm since midnight, few light sleet/rain showers early then clearing up. Should be soft, but hopefully good NH ground....times of first 2 races will tell us all we need to know.
Wednesday afternoon / evening through to Thursday morning still has significant chance of rain, but huge ranges still.
Best of luck everyone!!
On the grass front, Charlie, the clerk himself said they’d had issues growing the grass back properly especially on the home straight. Something to do with the cold snaps the week or two after their Dec and NYD races, I think.

I struggled last year with the Going, swapping in and out selections, and generally making a mess of the entire week
I hedged my Sir Gerhard ballymore bet as I thought the mud went again him. I didnt fancy L'Homme in the mud (not proven, French type etc). Didn't fancy Constitution Hill as he only had soft ground form around Sandown, there are plenty of other examples
Personally, I just need to keep it simple.
This is the festival. The top horses come here, especially in the Grade 1's. The large majority of them will run their race on any ground. We're talking Soft ground which will dry up. Its pretty much spot on for jump racing

Has to be a better way to measure going!
Never been able to read and really understand those readings.
Tuesday last year - Old: 6.3 New: 6.3 CC - what ever they said the going was, was wrong either way lol
Wednesday last year - Old: 6.6 New: 6.7 CC - Soft, Good (in places), but changed to soft and then to heavy
Thursday last year - Chase: 5.7 Hurdle: 5.3 - Soft, Heavy (in places)
Friday last year - Chase: 5.7 Hurdle: 5.3 - Good to Soft, Soft (in places)
This year
Tuesday - Old: 5.1 New: 5.8
So they saying that today is going to be as soft/heavy as Wednesday last year? No idea...
