Do we think JE could be more of a chasing type for the future ? If so then I doubt they'll be pushing him too much today. The second fav has some half decent form in the book behind Jazzy Matty and Byker . He's far more experienced and has already had a run this season.

Same route as sandor clegane I reckon, same ownership and trainer. Started over 2 miles last season and got beat only because he ran into three card Brag who he overturned over a longer distance

Yep. SC had already had 4 NHF runs and was immediately stepped up in trip after getting beat on debut. May well be same for JE. Run under his belt and then push on.

Jodie Standing who authors The Point-To-Point Recruits book, said this about JE. Maybe he'd want a shorter trip than Sandor? He did look classy in his PTP.

"This gelding has the class to match his pedigree and he falls into the ‘could be anything’ category. "Only a four-year-old, he has the pace to compete in bumpers, and could even be Champion Bumper standard, but with such a nimble, quick leap in him, he could make hay in the two-mile hurdle division."

I seen the quotes RoadToCheltenham shared from Julian’s P2P book where she said “he has the pace to compete in bumpers, could even be champion bumper standard… or could make hay in the two mile hurdle division”

I listened to the cheltmental video last night which was very good btw really enjoyed it. He made a good point that JE is to be in the picture at all he really ought to be beating The Lovely Man.

Sounds very positive guys. Reading those quotes he really should be winning today.

I think he'll be a decent horse over the intermediate trip over hurdles but ultimately will be seen to best effect over fences, in my opinion, where he could step out in trip further. He looked to have plenty of speed and a turn of foot in his p2p, so the Bartlett wouldn't be under consideration for me, unless he was well beat today, as he should be beating that lot today regardless of trip, if fully wound up.

Beating The Lovely Man today would be a big step in the right direction. As I said before, TLM ran really well on Soft ground behind both Jazzy Matty and Byker in two races last season and that turned out to be Cheltenham Festival winning form with those two filling the first two places in the Fred Winter Hurdle. It won't be easy.

Michael Looby has just tweeted the following about JE (in response to a question from Andrew Blair-White) "He was very good in all he did, he was very sharp and professional, jumped well travelled well and quickened away, I'd be shocked if he was beaten as it looks weak." He's an excellent judge of PTP horses, so sounds like a good one, at least for today.
