    • Think the ground has certainly played a factor there, fair play tho was a good buzz to watch him run well

        • Nice one Paul, convinced he would have been there or thereabouts on better ground

            Yup

Probably wouldn't have won as chianti won like a good thing but he'd have got a lot closer

            An excellent selection

                • When The Goffer was cutting through the pack i thought here we go (voice may have reached some higher notes at that point) Great run for our money and certainly brought some excitement! Cheers Paul

                  • Think Goffer was probably too far back there, felt like he was ridden to get the trip which is probably understandable given the ground. Gave us a great spin and got the place money so thanks for another spin on the Naiad train Spectre. All ready for (my) round 4 next year

                      • Sorry for the slow response everyone. Last week was a whirlwind and I don't log into FJ during the week itself. The last three days have been full on switch off recovery

The Goffer gave us a great spin, he travelled nicely, so it's hard to blame the ground. In reality he just didn't stay. I do wonder if they'll be tempted to drop him back to two and a half miles now.

That said we got some very nice place money back, and we can go again next year.

Thanks for all you support, it really is very much appreciated. There were a thousand people on the live podcast which was amazing. Hopefully we can enjoy the ride again next year.
Luck is a dividend of sweat. The more I sweat, the luckier I get.

Paul, thanks once again for sharing your research which gives us, great fun.

I would like to offer my two penny worth re the non staying aspect and the going, the thing that struck me was that the horse got beat much further this time in what I would consider to be a weaker race compared to the 2023 running, yes he does appear to be running on fumes approahing the rise, which could be going attributed. thanks once more and good luck with the King at Aintree.

                            • Thoughts on the Goffer in the Topham? Looks ideal for him to me but not sure if he will turn up there or not. Generally 12/1 for the race

The topham is one of my favourite races of the year and I'm really interested in James Du Berlais this year. He's got a big race in him off his current mark and even though he faded up the hill at Cheltenham in the Plate, that was a really eye catching run with a view to the Topham imo.

20/1 available and I think he might well be Townends ride in it.
