Was expecting a good show from JDB at DRF.

Has there been any news about his well being?

Think he might of got a knock or an injury belting one.

Think he needs deep ground. He was hating the quickish conditions.

I haven't heard anything but am going to give him another chance. He jumped the first 4 poorly especially the second and the fourth and it was curtains thereafter.
Was only his second run in almost 2 years, he may well have bounced.
Hardly an ideal prep but if he on the boat he will be doing the right things at home which would give him a squeak, given his decent back form.

              What decent back form ?
              1 run at Punchestown ?
I think that is good form personally, but it's isolated and many would dismiss Punchestown form when it suits.

I'm very tempted to cash out what I can for JDB & SG in this race.

Most of what I can cash out are roll ups so will earn a little profit from them. Might be a no brainer really?

Have got JDB covered for the BANC if stepped up as I think he will be, would have to give some thought as to whether I want to bother getting SG onside too.

I struggle to find the appeal with JDB. Went through his French form a while back and couldn't find anything he raced against that went on to do anything of note. He then finished last in a champion hurdle and arguably his best effort was over 3 miles behind Klassical Dream. Spent 600 odd days off before winning an average beginners chase with the 2nd not exactly advertising the form. I personally think they might up him in trip now or even hold him back for Punchestown. Even with a clear round I don't see him having the tactical speed to cope with MP here.

He has was a graded winner in France & second in a grade 1 over there. He was a big talking horse in France even be Willie bought him.
He could turn out to be a bag of dicks, but I just think it’s a touch premature to be writing him off on the back of one bad run, he probably bounced, and think he’s worth another chance.

Not that many will be backing him for this race but Gentlemansgame appearing as scratched from the Turners.

You can also see him as a NR here when you select bookmaker as 365 rather than Best Odds > https://www.racingpost.com/racecards...-03-16/828225/

James Du Berlais nominated for this race or the BANC by Willie in the Irish Racing stable tour video. At least he's still in Willie's reckoning.
