If he runs in the race yeah. Would love it if he could make it a hat trick.

Thedevilscoachman entered at Naas on the 12th in a handicap chase. No idea if that's plan A or plan B, but worth noting...

I see Stage Star is in to 10 or 12/1 for the RSA - seems very short given I thought he was going Turners. Just re-reading the recent comments about him on Nicholls tour - what are people's views on his destination:

"He has been a grand horse this year and is Grade 1 winner over hurdles and won the Challow at Newbury. He has been chasing this year and won first time up at Warwick where he jumped great and won nicely. He was second up at Newbury in November where he found the ground really fast and didn’t jump or go at all. We went to Plumpton after Christmas and made all and won again and then on Trial Days at Cheltenham he won again really nicely off topweight. He is in the Turners and the Brown Advisory, and we will see what the ground does - he will run in one or the other. If it’s on the quicker side, I wouldn’t have a bother about going three miles but if it on the slow side we can go for the Turners. He is a progressive horse, and he did really nicely the other day - there are obviously very good races, and you could run third or fourth and have run a blinding race and he is rated 152. With another summer on his back, he will be a smart horse to go in the handicaps over here."

              Hi Mighty,

I have a solitary share in SS and I sincerely hope that the Turners is his destination!
Thursday is the only day that I will be attending and my guess (and it is only that) is that Good to Soft or slower - he would end up in the Turners.

SS seems to have followed a similar route to Bravemansgame over Hurdles - and they both ended up in the Ballymore.
However, BMG was running over 3m last season before being declared for the BANC, whereas SS has been racing exclusively over 2m 4f (ish)

I think/hope that it would need to be Good or faster on the Wednesday for him to run in the BANC.

Leman14 thank you for your comment - I’ll pray for good to soft ground then, otherwise if he’s declared for the Wednesday I’ll need to take action!

Tuesday and Thursday will generally be "easier" for them to get Good to Soft ground (as it's the first day on each of the courses)
(Or easier for them to avoid fast ground....)

I sincerely hope that he runs on the Thursday and puts up a better showing than he did in the Ballymore last season (although Stomach Ulcers are a fairly good excuse for a below-par run)

Just on ground, and I know we all get somewhat obsessed by weather/going at this time of year, but officials will want to hope that brutal cold snap that is being threatened stops somewhere around Reading and spreads no further West, because if temperatures dip well below freezing they may have to put the covers down and if they're forced to do that they won't be able to water.
                    Horrible situation for officials...

                    • I may be crazy but I think Bronn is quite overpriced for either this or JLT, 3 lengths of Gerri earlier in the season, then had to show guts to beat a horse who has since gone in fairly nicely, jumping needs to improve but he’s in the right place for that and at 33/1 NRNB, could be a ew punt if he goes

Yeah, 33 nrnb is ok,and it’s not crazy imo as it’s not the best renewal.
Even if you are crazy, you ain’t alone.
People think I’m crazy for fancying the Challow winner in the Ballymore.
I am a bit crazy at times, but not for that reason imo.

                        • From Gordon’s Racing TV interview, if Jack is back he will ride Gerri and if not it will be Jordan Gainford. Davy won’t be riding him

I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane
