The scenario I’m looking at is that will already have happened and he’s now running on like a future stayer might?

What I actually think is,because of his jumping,he will be in the race at the last, and then will finish strongly.
Whether another finishes better, or is simply a better horse anyway,I don’t know .

It'll potentially hinge on the way the race is run

If its a proper end to end gallop he will have a good chance

If its not and becomes a sprint finish he will get done by something with a better turn of foot

I think he will be prominent and will front run if nothing else does, so he should get the race run his way.

            1st - Gaelic Cert
            2nd - Daylight
            3rd - IEP
            4th - Good Land

If there’s a match bet available anywhere for Hermes v Gaelic, I’d be max betting again but for that market at anything odds against.
That pig couldn't win a handicap when he was 1 stone well in ....

More chance of getting a round in than Gaelic Warthog winning

            • What way do we think ground conditions will suit and hinder the front 3 at the market?

Really we don't know what it'll be - few heavy downpours on the back of advanced watering or equally no rain and possibility of frost covers is two extremes

do all 3 at the top look okay suitors to a mudfest given they all have won on sft/heavy going?

I know HA at Sandown was officially soft but really it looked worse than that

Hermes Allen most likely wants a bog, IEP would probably go on any ground same with GW

Really? not sure why you'd think that. He wouldn't appear ground dependent in the slightest.

Like others have said, he'll get done for a turn of foot by one of the others so he's going to need to conditions to make it a test

Not sure that's strictly true, if he's good enough he can win from the front, setting his own fractions to make it a test on any ground.

Nicholls said he won the Challow on ground he thought too soft for him.
It’s possible that soft may hinder others more than him of course, but I don’t think he wants a bog.

If I recall correctly, I believe run4home stated that GW would much prefer soft ground

Yep, reckons he'd be better on decent ground. At least he's proved he's versatile though. Very good horses go on all sorts of ground.
