Looks a good little renewal but are we expecting just over the 8 to run?

Hermes, IEP, Gaelic, Champ K, Good Land, Inthepocket, Abs Notions, American Mike then a few rags

It's the race of the festival potentially if everyone we think will line up, no idea how to call it, Champ Kiely has barely been getting a mention from what I've seen which tells you how deep it is. Looking forward to it but no idea what to do with it, probably backed more in this after the 100 or so I've done in the bumper.

I would expect in excess and possibly Authorised speed if they think it’s soft enough

        • And so the Hermes Allen drift begins (just like Bravemansgame).

Exchanges now have Impaire Et Passe as favourite (last matched at just over 3/1), whilst Gaelic Warrior (matched at between 9/2 & 5/1) has also come in for support on there too, all the while Hermes Allen is getting nearer to 4/1 (matched at between 7/2 & 4/1).

I think I've said before, I'd be amazed if Hermes Allen went off favourite, so not surprised to see this at all.

I probably should have laid him and tried to profit from that, as it does seem obvious.

I hope he does keep drifting and I'll get him backed

An E/W proce I'd be tempted just to cover my bets more than anything else. I wouldn't be backing him to make a profit off him if he did win though.

                • Who do we think PT will ride ?? Gaelic Warrior?? That'll leave Jacob to ride for Double Green..

I think Paul will want to ride Impaire Et Passe leaving no ride for Jacob

Danny on Champ Kiely and Paul on Gaelic Warrior, with Jacob riding IEP is the most logical.

It'll be interesting to see, as I don't fully believe that Paul gets to pick like they publically say. With Ruby, they used to say they'd discuss it as a team, and now with Paul they say he picks. Call me cynical, but that seems like it'd have been the other way around.

Paul ain't gonna say no to being put on GW or rock the boat about it ...... but I think if he DOES ride IEP, it's a huge, huge call and I'll admit that my theory on him having as big a say as we're lead it believe it wrong!

                      IEP

GW is far too much of a liability.

PT won’t wanna see Jacob passing him on IEP as he drifts all the way over to stands on GW

Just can't see Munir/Souede being happy if Jacob doesn't get one of their better rides and this is the race I think it most likely to happen in.

Paul will ride El Fabiolo in the Arkle, I think that's a given.

At least in the Ballymore all three jocks will get fair rides with Willie having GW, IEP & CK.

Maybe so but I just don’t think the two lads are a charity and as such owe Jacob a ride on a good thing. From hearing connections across several interviews, willie makes the calls no ifs or buts, they can feed ideas but it’s willies decision what happens with their horses.

(Assumption) If IEP is willies best horse in the Ballymore and PT is his no.1 rider who favours the ride on IEP I cannot see the decision being swapped to please connections and Jacob.

logical thing to do to appease all parties would be the split suggested..

Yeah, it's not as if Paul would be riding a no hoper, he'd be riding a Ricci horse (which he does a fair bit of anyway), a horse that was earmarked by his trainer for this race from last years festival and will probably go off close to favouritism.

                            • Just seen Patrick Mullins on Getin suggesting that Paul will ride Impaire Et Passe, Danny on Champ Kiely and Patrick saying he might put his hand up for the ride on Gaelic Warrior.

I know Patrick is a top amateur Jockey but, I wouldn't be happy for him to ride Gaelic Warrior. I doubt it's set in stone, but it puts me off.

Can picture Patrick looking through his legs on Gaelic Warrior to then realise Paul has just gone by him
