Unbeaten means nothing if the company you're keeping is average.
7/2 for 'could be' plenty of improvement - at that price I want far more certainty/evidence.
He would prefer better ground. Picking up Irish Point on soft LTO left him visibly knackered and legless (thats why he hasn't run again)
He travelled OK in the RB but his jumping was not fluent and he's picked up......... Irish Point (not even good enough to travel)
Would an astute trainer tell everyone they're going to win the two most competitive novice hurdles of the week?
That Grade 1 was piss weak. We also know Royal Bond winners have a poor record in the Supreme.
AD ran to an RPR of 136 against in a mares race vs two horses who didn't want a penalty. IET beat AD far more easily.
Champ Kiely 'boosted' the form - he settled over a longer trip and beat 7 horses, 6 of which are deemed not good enough to go to Cheltenham.
7/2 is atrocious IMO. Wish I'd taken 20/1+ like some of you snaffled tho, thats fair and you've got the value
Sorry Charlie but I can't be having a few of your opposing views. Irish Point travelling has nothing to do with his ability, they said very early that he was going to be minded and he wasn't guaranteed to be coming over this season. Those comments were made back in December by connections. Also Ashroe Diamond was never put in the race behind FV and IET, it's hard to compare IET and MN's beating of Ashroe here. In regards to the Royal Bond, we don't know how strong the form is, and we won't until next season. At the moment we can judge it based on what they've achieved next time out and apart from Irish Point disappointing at the DRF they've all ran well enough to suggest its not 'piss weak'. I remember a fair few calling last years Bond complete trash and I can imagine some of them can't see Mighty Potter beat in the turners.
Mind you I wouldn't be taking 7/2, you'll most probably be getting 5/1 at least on the day anyway.
Long bitcoin, long gold, long silver, long g/s opening day Cheltenham Festival
I think its useful (or at least interesting) to go through old threads, seeing what folks on here thought after a performance
So I went back to boxing day, when Facile Vega won his last race, just to see what people thought about it
Its too damn early for my brain to process this, so I'm going to leave this here for now and see if it triggers further conversation / follow up or thoughts
thoughts on Il Etait Temps being a county horse at the time
... this was me :-)
I'm trying to work out who said which quote. A bit like on Love Island
Johnny Dineen commented on Upping the Ante that the way Casey, Ruby etc. went on about IEP, it was like Gaelic Warrior wasn't in the race. Perhaps this is the reason why?
Gaelic Warrior in the parade ring ...

Thats OK pal, differing views are the lifeblood of the forum!
Irish Point is relevant because he wasn't out battling a top notcher.
No mate, just as Joe said the ground makes the Supreme an option using his stamina.
I'd be very doubtful he'll end up there though, there already running FV, IET , Dark Raven and Diverge there.
