  • January . 2023 . - Forum Yankee.

    Well , It's January already . 10 week's to go to the Festival .
    ........................................
I thought i'd kick the thread off with a selection for the Albert Bartlett . - Weveallbeen Caught .
    Still available at 25-1 B365. , 20's in several places .
I thought he was impressive on new years day , Made all , and battled up to the Line .
Nigel twiston Davies has already said that the bartlett would be his race , so as not to clash with Hermes Allen .
He say's Built to be a Chaser ..... R.s.a next season ??.. another Blaklion ??.

Yeah I agree, I really like this horse. I've been nibbling away at it for the AB since I seen his 1st run at Cheltenham on the paddy power Friday he stayed up the hill well that day and confirmed my thoughts yesterday.

….I know it’s early next Month but we need to decide what we’re doing with DRF. I think we asked Saxon Warrior to nominate an additional DRF Yankee last season, so if MoM agrees, maybe we could do a Jan Yankee quickly followed by a DRF punt.

Its then a matter of us going with DRF based on Saxon’s trends before or after they run.

I like Weveallbeencaught and I have backed him for The Spud Race and he is still good value imo. The RPR's for the Cheltenham race have now been issued and Weveallbeencaught has been awarded a very reasonable 134 but the second horse, Rock My Way, was making his debut under rules and although he went off seemingly unfancied at 66/1 he posted another decent RPR of 133.
His P2P form looks decent and a couple of horses who beat him have been sold for decent money and moved to top stables.
I can only see Rock My Way quoted at 33/1 NRNB with Hills which I feel is decent. He is also quoted for The Ballymore but I would not fancy him to beat the likes of Hermes Allen, Gaelic Warrior et al.

        Just food for thought....

          …..just had a quick glance at the Nap, Lay, E/W thread & apart from the obvious favourites there seems a few mentions for;

          Chemical Energy NHC 9-1
          DIAT CB 33-1
          Fact to File CB 20-1
          Favori de Champdou AB 14-1

Might be worth a fuller analysis, have to say I’d nominate Favori myself, especially given 14-1 NRNB is the same as firms not offering that concession.

              Little bump to this thread.

I’d nominate Embassy Gardena for the Albert Bartlett. Think he will relish this sort of hustle and bustle contest on the new course and he showed some class the other day with how he travelled. 8s looks more than fair to me.

I really like Galia des Liteaux for the Mares after seeing her the other day, but trainer says only runs on soft or worse.
                Which got me thinking……
Do we think doing a soft ground Yankee is an idea to think about?
Could give us a value bet ? Just in case.
                Could do it nrnb.

….not sure we need a ‘theme’ at this stage unless we are in long range weather forecast range.

Personally, I’d just look for four winners with a bit of value in their price. I suppose NRNB is a useful tool if there’s strong handicap views. The likes of the Ballymore & BANC still appear open enough if we can solve those puzzles.

I'd have Billaway. 8s and 9s available. 2 of the horses in front of him in the betting won't be running. We know he needs his first run and he loves Cheltenham.

                      No worries.
I guess people can decide for themselves if they think it’s something worth looking at.

I think the BANC you mentioned, in particular, is a good one to look at, definitely value there , just have to find it!!
Ballygriffin Cottage would be my choice right now at the odds

….just my view, of course. Not long to go so good idea giving this a bump with a suggestion.

The AB might be another to have a stab at, especially with DRF around the corner. I ‘think’ the Nathaniel Lacy has a good record of producing live chances in the AB & I note Favori De Champdou has an entry. Saxon seems very sweet on him & he’s widely available at 12-1 (10-1 NRNB), so he’d be my nomination in an open looking race.

Favori De Champdou; Albert Bartlett 12-1 (or 10-1 NRNB).

I'd give a +1 to Billaway. Personally think Gentlemansgame is by far the best value in the BANC market at the minute, but I agree there should be a BANC selection in there because there is definitely value there.

Not sure what's going to be in the DRF yankee, but I really like Good Land for the Ballymore. Target confirmed, second favourite for the Nathaniel Lacy with the favourite apparently not going, smashed Embassy Gardens who has since franked the form.

The RPR stats are pretty strong in the bumper too so I wouldn't mind Fact To File being included, although his DRF price makes me concerned. Maybe something in the Stayers too? Still TBC what I actually fancy though

Sorry for being potentially ignorant, but where has it been confirmed Good Land goes for the Ballymore? All I've seen is he's going for the Nathaniel Lacy, 2m6f, and Connell has said he's 'All Stamina' in a quote. That would have me thinking he's an Albert Bartlett horse personally.

….is Good Land’s target confirmed as Bally? Shorter in the AB market, 20-1 Bally is decent if that’s the intention.
