  • It annoys me way too much that galvin keeps getting shorter and no sign of them making delta Work bigger

    • Nothing from Enda Bolger, the man who used to farm these.

      • Is there criteria to have previous experience to run here ?

Franco de port was a shock entry

You need to have run over the course or have completed a schooling session - what criteria the schooling session holds I have no idea, presumably at least half the course...

Or Prengarde, what a weird one that turned out to be.

If my memory serves me correctly they only have to pop the 3 most difficult obstacles to get sign off. I think I've remembered that correctly.

Would that need to have been done prior to entry or could they do it a couple of days before the race ?

I'd imagine before as Galvin and Franco schooled recently as far as I know.
They always seem to have travelled over prior to entries from memory.

                    • Franco De Port - is he a better horse than Galvin?

If both horses are at their best, over the xc distance, id say definitely not. But its hard to know whether at least one of galvins poor runs were by design or not, since the national is the long term aim, or whether he's just not as good as he was.

On ratings, no, but does it matter as much in this discipline?

Singing Banjo is a prime example. He's an 88 rated chaser, put him over the banks courses and he's a completely different proposition and rated 135.

Obviously being with Gordon, Galvin is expected to take to the banks like a duck to water, but it would always be at the back of my mind, a bit like it was with Delta Work last season, and look how that ended for me

TBH it's not a race I'm getting involved in much, so I'm not really sure why I've got myself involved in the discussion. Must be a slow news day

                          • Anyone else think this has got a familiar look about it ?
Elliott finding a stablemate to turns over his own hotpot ?

                            • Galvin would be fully entitled to beat Delta Work if he takes to the course. Absolutely the same situation last year and fair play to connections for not corrupting the result.

                              • Galvins recent form is better than delta works. If Galvin wins the x-country what price will he be for the GN
