      • Shame, judging by that would have been a hands and heels job in the NH Chase next year. 25/1 ticket in the bin!

I'm sure they're gutted to have thrown away a NH Chase win for an Irish Grand National

          • Probably loads ppl don't even know what that means who have backed it! Some probably think it's even more of a "sure" thing haha or am I being too critical of some of the Blue movement order? Sorry no idea what to call them.

I mean he's not said that in any way like. And it's not an unreasonable thing to think he'd have gone well in the NHC. As much as some were trying to claim he wouldn't have a chance before today...

Obviously the Irish National is worth a shit load more money though and connections will be delighted with that. A shrewd purchase by JP, which again some tried to knock him for on here.

I'll openly admit that I was knocking people backing him at single figures for the NHC - it was pretty daft of them as it turns out, but hopefully most people covered him for today.

I just think it's a poor choice of words to call it a 'shame' ..... it's cute you're taking offense on someone elses behalf for something that wasn't offensive though

Connections will be delighted, as will backers today, for a horse trying to win a race...

The blinkers are definitely on for some, with Cheltenham vision.

Aye, 100%. Pretty sure I agreed with you at that price. But I could be remembering incorrectly.

I'm not taking any offense like. Just find it odd behaviour to quote something and twist what's been said. But each to their own pal.

Well done to all concerned for today.

He's clearly meant a shame for his own bet.

                            Twist what's been said?

I'm literally using what's been said to highlight how I feel about positioning your feelings around your own bet.

Anyone who backed I Am Maximus for the NH Chase needs to acknowledge they took a risk and it back fired.

They aren't 'unlucky' at all. It's not a shame for their bet.... you can't claim its a shame for your bet when a horse wins the prize than was plan A.

I find it odd behaviour that you cannot wait to jump on things I say.... this one seems an odd hill to try and die on?

For me it’s 1 point. We will all lose more than 1 point before now and Cheltenham. At 25/1, given the Mullins MO, it was a very sound bet at 25/1, with obvious risk attached. For those (like me) that bet it, it can still be a shame that he won’t now turn up as a live ticket for the NH chase, which would have been a very plausible plan B. Not like he went off 4/11 today, he was an 8/1 shot. I followed the same logic last year and landed a 16/1 shot on GDM. The risks were attached with GDM in the Irish National. I stand by the use of the word - and the bet. But I am also sure that some of the “blue movement order” who backed at single figures may not have realised the risks attached. But appreciate some may have a different view. Equally, those are probably the people that miss out on decent value occasionally as a result.

Have you honestly never hoped for a particular outcome to benefit one of your other bets?
