….good info, already single figures for the Bartlett, would be an early blow for anybody on at fancy prices. Not seeing him in the BANC market as yet.

      Not sure about him myself.
Two visits and two falls, both of which happened as the pressure increases.
Would not be surprised if he didn’t come over .

      • I could see Dysart hoovering up G2 small field prizes where he can dominate from the front.

I guess the big question there is whether he's falling because he's taking too much out of himself in the early stages of the race or falling due to the pressure he's under. I'd argue difficult to say atm as he didn't fall at DRF when he was under pressure. Another year maturing and maybe he takes a bit less out of himself and is able to keep going at least into the places. He won't be able to dominate next year though if they ride Energumene like this year

Definitely see him hoovering up the Grade 2s though like Hurricane fly says, which could make the 66/1 a value place bet for anyone that does that as he won't be that price if he comes over next year

          • Some of the prices quoted are absolutely criminal, especially for horses who have so many potential targets.

Flooring Porter @ 25/1 for the stayers stands out. He's 2/3 in the race and ran a blinder this year off an interrupted prep. Even with his standard 'disappointments' pre cheltenham he's just not going off a double figure price and he's virtually certain to be aimed at the stayers. If I can boost that to around 33's then its the right bet, even this early.

            • ….Mullins already mentioning the Mares Hurdle for Zenta, 25-1 with 365.

Doesn't anyone recall another horse Mullins done this with? He's always said he believes in going hurdling before chasing as a learning curve for them.

Florida Pearl. Only one I can think of. He threatens it every year but never does it. Reread the November stable tour. He suggests it’s on the table for at least 3 of them.

The only thing I would say in this case:

                  1) Mullins doesn’t seem to have a great staying novice chase hand next year;

                  2) David Casey said even before the festival that FTF was a Hunter chaser and nothing else. So they definitely think this guy need a fence and quickly.

He said it was a possibility for Grangeclare West this season, but ultimately decided against it.

I imagine that The Nice Guy and Minella Cocooner can come out again for a novice career, assuming they recover?

Which is very likely what will happen with fact to file

Unless he runs over hurdles this season I can't see any chance he goes over fences next season

Otherwise he'd either have 1 hurdles start in november/December then 1 chase start before the festival

Or his first start over jumps would be a novice chase

Seems a very unlikely thing to happen

He gets declared for a novice hurdle this season then its something to consider

They can. But I’ve no idea how bad their injuries are. Horses who miss a year (or nearly a year) tend not to come back quite the same in my experience. TNG would be 9 too.

Given how fragile he is will they even send the nice guy chasing?

Stayers maybe? Willie will have nothing of note for that race

a free bet at 25s for the stayers is tempting but not one I'd be investing actual money into given the time he's had off in his career

Pretty much exactly my thoughts mate. I suppose the one difference to usual years is that Mullins doesn't have an obvious staying chaser from the Bartlett, although maybe he's got something hidden away for Punchestown (or Gaelic Warrior stepping up maybe). But I'd very much expect FTF to be over hurdles next year.

                              • Good Land 25-1 for the RSA looks OK.

Trainer thinks he's a gold cup horse so this race is most likely.
The Ballymore form looks likely one of the better at this stage IMO.
Impaire unlikely to go as far as three miles just yet, and Gaelic Warrior and Champ Keily, you'd have to have doubts about their respective jumping being an issue.

                                Corbetts Cross could run anywhere.
And the Bartlett form looks ropey enough. IMO.
