I'd imagine 6 year olds don't often win the race because decent ones very rarely run in it. Nothing more than that.
Maybe someone should buy the horse, and move him to a trainer that knows how good he his right now.

      Step forward JP?

        True.

You just know he's going to hack up sending the forum into meltdown.

i know he hasnt been entered but he looks pretty good
          I agree
i think some people forget he’s come from points just like most horses under rules. Just ended up with Christie.
Does look a viable purchase though if they’re interested in selling.
It was my second or third festival when I backed kingscliff at 11-4 to win the Foxhunters.
He was a short priced favourite for the gold cup the year after but got injured at haydock in January.

Came back from injury and ran kicking king close in the king George who went on to win the gold cup on the bridle pretty much.

some of these horses are worth a go in open company but sadly some people are too stupid to see it.
For his second ever run out of points and not had any hurdling experience he ran to a very decent level.

Billaway at 9/1 looking a must for anyone building a book on the race.

I really should re-do the blind stake e/w on previous winners and placed horses returning to the festival.

Sax has just put up Ferns Lock RPR of 155.
Even if they're 10lb wrong, it puts him as an easy FAV for the race his trainer thinks he'd be scared in

And would put him as competitive in any of the novice staying races.
I'm so annoyed by this I might email Christie, the only thing stopping me is how it'll scare him and how sweary it might be.
Not really - I'm over it, as you can see

I'd be amazed if he runs him, he's an eejit.
Only hope is someone buys him.

Received an update from someone who subscribes to Declan Phelan.
The owner of Fern Lock has received a "big bid" but has no intention to sell due to his age(70+) amongst other things, plans to skip Chelt due to longstanding friendship of owners with the stablemates(bound to annoy Q amongst others) and is happy to wait the year. Won't put it all on here but that's the jist.

If he's 70+ then should be even more reason to not be 'happy to wait the year' to be honest.

Was expecting that from Q along the lines of " I hope he doesn't make the next festival"
