I’m inclined to go with a view I’ve seen mentioned , it’s CH or retire, depending on her performance in the Irish CH.
    I reckon you are safe.

    • Think Brandy Love needs to put the Sex toys away and get out and stamp her authority on this race

That's the opposite of what they said on RTV ... said she'd travelled better than normal

Absolutely no idea where Epatante slots in. She could wallop them - hope not...

Would she even beat Marie's rock these days?

Given the relative trajectories of the two horses and that honeysuckle would only run here if badly beaten in the Irish champion I'm not sure she would

the rpr Marie's rock did in the relkeel was only slightly below honeysuckle runs last season and that was on reappearance so you'd think she could improve on that

If honeysuckle has indeed regressed a little she's no shoe in here

Can't see how it'd work out that Honeysuckle did run here

I suppose she'd need to run incredibly well at the DRF, but come 2nd and look like she now needed a trip, best work late?

Doesn't really sound like her run style though ... can't see it.

If beaten at the DRF, she wouldn't even be fav for this would she? .... and do agree with the rumour above that she may well retire if beaten?

I just don’t think she will run here.
From what I’ve seen this season I would have MR ahead of them all inc Honeysuckle.
Is a darn good competitive race though if they all turn up, that’s for sure.

Do you think Honeysuckle has regressed by much? I don't think her performance in the Hattons Grace was too different to previous years. She just finally faced two horses that are actually grade 1 quality at that trip. She's always improved from the Hattons Grace to the Irish Champion Hurdle as well.

I can't imagine she will turn up here anyway. She either runs well at the DRF and goes to the Champion Hurdle or they retire her and get her prepped for her date with Walk in the Park.

Yeah you'd think if she wins or goes very close at the DRF she will be running in the champion

If she is beaten badly she has to be much more likely to be retired than run here

I was watching a podcast and they said the owners representative had hinted as much

I think she has regressed a little yes from the season she won her first champion hurdle

As brilliant as that string of wins she put up the best horse she beat was probably benie des dieux

She raced some proper horses in this years hattons grace and got beat (I backed klassical dream that day )

If either state man or vauban is a 170 horse she could get badly beaten in the Irish champion and be retired.

Personally though, i really hope she wins the irish champion and goes out on her shield in the champion hurdle. That just may be a tough ask.

The owner was on tv recently at the races, and said

                            Plan
                            A) Champion Hurdle
                            B) Get covered in the breedings shed
                            C) Mares Hurdle

Given that retirement was higher on the list than running in the Mares, then at that moment in time, she was definitely not in line to go to the Mares

                            Things can change..

Since then Marie’s Rock and Love Envoi have made the top of that Mares Hurdle market look very tasty, with 5 short priced horses.

If it helps I've got a 20/1 win today slip from her first race this season on top of the 11/1 win today from this outing

If come March TMSG has won the mares hurdle, I’ll not be angry, I’ll be disappointed....(Your post from Mares chase thread) I just wanted to reply to your post but thought i'd bring it in to the mares hurdle thread.
Now I totally agree if we get the 4 you mention turn up for the race in march, plus the likes of love envoi, queens brook and shewearsitwell it could well be the best mares hurdle yet. But it certainly wouldn't easily be the best mares hurdle ever.
I'd take you back to the 2020 race where the first 5 home were rated 158,162,151,152,153
Take in to account the 158 there is honeysuckl, then this years race has the potential to be as good, maybe better but surely not easily the best???

Edit- i'd add maybe this was the year trainers realised the mares were at an advantage in races against the geldings, or at least equal with the allowance. Honeysucle, BDD and roksana all raced in open graded races in each of their races before the mares hurdle that year. Irish champion, Galmoy and the relkeel hurdle
No I completely stand by what I said. They were all more exposed that year. This year we’ve potentially 2 champion hurdle winners and we haven’t got to the bottom of brandy love, love envoi and Marie’s rock yet. Imo they’d eat the likes of elfile and roksana for breakfast
