Yeah, I'm on her for the stayers (with NRNB - doh), no chance seeing her there... they'll just stick to what they know - Fez mares and then a trip over to Ireland again. Why not
I think ITV racing where getting dizzy after her win, she was impressive and she is a top class mare, who has been overlook multiple times now... but to then go from dis-missing her to saying "go for the champion hurdle" is nuts!

The man is so clueless. Actually cant watch ITV racing because I find him so painful to watch. Never seen anyone so needlessly effusive in my life. A horse could win a maiden in lacklustre fashion and Ed would describe is as a 'mesmerising performance'

Anyway, Maries Rock does look good.

She is always keen early season but watch her at punchestown she looked tapped for tie at one point and was a little behind the bridle at times and then powered home. I think connections are worried about the keenness but I also think her head carriage exaggerates it a bit. If you look at nicos reins there was still slack there.

            • That mare race could be the most competitive of the week, it will be the best betting opportunity across the graded races on Day 1

              Marie's
              Brandy
              Honey
              Epatante
              Love Envoi

Just missed the price on Hills, doh. No rush now, Maries wont come back out now until the fez... most will jump on the back on Honeysuckle (if she turns up) and Brandy

              Very very interesting race

                  • That was almost definitely a personal best

She beat a 152 horse easily whilst carrying a 6lb penalty so was only getting a small amount of weight

looks like she's improved again and will take plenty of beating

100% you can set your watch to DD on the front end, defo a 150+ effort with more to come even with potential big guns in this take a vintage Mares renewal effort(155+)to beat her IMO.

                      • Just checked and have not got MR backed as a single. But shes in a nice trixie (8/1) with GDM NHC 7/1 and Jonbon 6/1

I wouldn't waste any money on the Stayers unless NRNB.

Hendo: “She will go for the Mares. I suppose our original idea might have been to try her over three miles earlier on."

Tom Palin (National Hunt Manager at Middleham Park Racing): “We know she likes it around Cheltenham and that is where we will see her next. The Mares’ Hurdle has always been the plan."

That's fairly certain and very Gordonesque in confirming running plans. Such is the prestige now with the Mares Hurdle and the double/double is the plan. Less we forget Henderson has Champ (OK, probably too old) and a returning Buzz for the Stayers, assuming he can get him back fully fit.

                            • I'm surprised anyone has even thought about her for the Stayers personally.... was it mentioned by Nicky at some point or something? She's never run over 3m, I had to double check the distance of today's race yesterday when I saw the Stayers mentioned.

Anyway, the above seems pretty conclusive so thanks for posting, but no harm NRNB anyway, I'll not bother though

Yep looks like decision made ....pocket wise I’m ambivalent ...happy either way ....but would have loved to have seen her in a stayers ...I think it would be tailor made ...just track the pace and go ....hey never mind if they all get there the Mares is looking like a cracker....the stayers less so
