Maries Rock
I thought Maries Rock was very impressive in the Mares race last year. Firstly, she won that on really quick ground. Today's going will suit her better. In that race, Nico used the whip after the last, the first one was from his left hand and I think that was to try and steer Maries Rock over to the right to move her away from Queens Brook, Nico then switched to his right, tapped her twice and she quickened off. Basically, I think there was loads of horse left there
Maries Rock is a Course and Distance, and a festival winner. For me, thats a significant tick in the box.
Maries Rock was weak on the day of the Relkeel hurdle, suggested she needed the run? Either way, she came out and won that with plenty in hand. I feel she may have improved since last year.
There are very little question marks for Maries Rock. The only niggling concern I have is "...where will the pace come from"... I dont think it the pace will be weak, which will favour a 2 miler with a turn of turn, given the size of the field and the depth, I feel they'll go around at a even pace which will be fine for Maries Rock
This is her trip.
Nico on board
Henderson train
I think her current price is more than fair, thats if you strikethrough Epatante and Honeysuckle - which I have. Both going into their 5th season, both on the decline now + other reasons
