Hello Fat Jockeys,

Giving 12lb and a neck behind a 140 rated horse who was 4 lengths behind a 144 rated horse.
It;s actually not that far off.

    • Will she even go now? I'm not so sure she will.

      • It was a cobweb and get round job, an ok run, nothing to get giddy about either way. Will improve a good few lbs just for going left handed.

Not certain for this race anyway.... handicap entry wouldn't have been as a joke

            • Got so carried away by the Grand Annual good thing that I bloody missed the race

Glad I didn't top up on her earlier anyway. Can back her during the week now. Loving Envoi even more......

              • I’m not sure Henderson will even send 2 of the 3 he is ‘aiming’ at this race.

I’d say theatre glory is the definite runner of the 3.

JP loves a champion runner and Epatante is his only option so wouldn’t surprise me if she went there.

Maries Rock could easily end up going stayers if a couple at the head of the market don’t look like making it so it will be interesting to see how it plays out in a couple weeks time.

What do you make of Il Etait Temps handicap entry, out of interest?

                  • I think after that race Hendo will be even more inclined to send Epatante to the Mares. She's no chance of winning v CH but her chances of winning the Mares look even better after today's race imo.

The handicap entry was obviously in case of mishap or stone bruise on decs day for the Mares.
Exactly why Il Etait Temps also got a handicap entry for the Friday. In case he missed tuesday and wednesday decs.

I see it as a massive confidence boost from Willie as he clearly wants to give them a run at the festival. Especially Brandy due to the left hand thing.
One of the reason he multi enters his novices nowadays, and leaves it till decs, and Brandy has no other options really.

He;s kicked himself ever since Chacun missed the Queen Mother as he would have been ok to go in the Ryanair, a day later. But wasn't entered.

                      • Thought it was an OK prep run? Giving like 9 pounds and a long as lay off going the wrong way round

If she can beat her giving her 9 pounds and going right handed, then the others won't get near her in the Mares. Finishing within 5 lengths of her would be a decent enough first run if the season for me.
                          There's the 5 lengths.

Bookies increasing her odds is a bit of a surprise. Did they expect her to wipe the floor with them off that weight and first run of the season.

She's still the most likely winner for me.

Epatante is past it. Honeysuckle is past it. Brandy Love has beat Love Envoi already. Maries Rock didn't beat Queen's Brook far last year and probably goes the Stayers. The rest won't be in it.

                            We'll see

Nothing wrong with the 10/1 NRNB Mares Hurdle or 8/1 NRNB Coral

That they think Facile Vega is the best novice hurdler and they'll check the mark of IET in case handicapper fluffs it, which is incredibly unlikely.

Dual (and defending( Champion Hurdler in opposition is harder than facing whatever IET does though... probs.

                                Just wow.

This is exactly the post I was expecting though .... for anyone wondering what my point was pre-race

                                I've re-backed at 10/1 by the way
